I'm going to have to watch that back. I could swear Zoe said a pumpkin is a fruit because it has no seeds......
I know I probably misheard .... but it's one of those things ... I have to know now.

Karmen is absolutely a charisma vacuum (sorry can't remember who said it). I think she'll be gone soon.
I don't like Chloe and her infernal desserts and hope she goes soon. Sadly they seem to like her, probably because of her sickly sweet attitude. Invisible Elena seems to be on course for a positive edit. She was practically hyperventilating at using the abalone even though she had cooked it loads of times. She must have zero confidence in herself and a non-risk taker to the point of ridiculousness. Hopefully she will snap out of that now she's had some success. Brett seems a bit hit and miss, not expecting him to win. Anyone think Elise was fairly invisible but capable and then during her eliminations seemed kind of not that great? Heather seems boring so far, not a winners edit unless she gets a 'turns a corner' edit soon. I have been impressed with Nicolette despite being a "dessert queen". She was captain on the first team challenge and did anyone notice that in the next challenge (remembering the recipes), her team all immediately put her forward for it. Which I thought was pretty spineless, she's only 19 and yet they wanted to offload responsibility to her again. She is happy to offer ideas in team challenges. But I'm not expecting her to win, she might even go soon. Harry is getting camper by the episode ![]() Harry and Matt getting a very positive edit and are contenders. Anastasia also doing well there, with Chloe and Elena also looking like they could be around a while. Who have I forgotten? Zoe. Yes she seems capable too and appears to be getting a positive edit. Mimi - also seems to be doing well but might be on a downward spiral now. How many are left? Is that everyone? Karmen, Brett, Trent and Elise to be the next pack to go. Chloe and Mimi as outsider bets. |

I know I'm pretty militant on this, but crying is instant disqualification, especially whether it's over such silliness as "should I play my immunity pin which is specifically meant to save me from eliminations" and doubly especially when it's accompanied by such bollocks as "I'm used to making all my decisions benefit other people but now it's time to do something for myself"
Vomit Anyway, bye bye Miles. Probably not gonna miss him much as a chef, but there's something indefinably Aussie about his accent. "Miles is developing a concept centres on the 'Miles Pie Club'". Umm...yeah, methinks it may need some work |

I'm another one annoyed by the tears, what was that all about? I'd have the pin in my outstretched hand walking in and cut the fake boo hoo what to do rubbish.
I've been on Matt to win right from the start but I get suspicious when someone is almost hidden from the edit like Elena has been. Chloe also seems a bit of a favourite with the judges in the way Po was in her series so I could see either of them or even both in the final. Please just get rid of Karmen next though! |

Just occurred to me, have we only had masterclasses when it's been special guest week?
Mind you, this lot are so good they hardly need it |

That's a point. I don't watch them, which is why I heartily approve of the method they use now of tacking them onto the end of an elimination, but I think the last two-hour programme was Nigella week. I didn't notice a two-hour programme last week.
I like Power Apron week, it really pushes the proper contenders to try their hardest to prove themselves. I still love Matt and would really like him to win. There are some people I would love to see go home, Chloe, Zoe, Brett, Anastasia (not sure why she bugs me but she really does), and of course, the favourite(!) Karmen... Urgh, crickets! |

so potentially poisoning the judges is a "risk worth taking" in a bid to be creative

I think that they are normally connected to a 'special' week - but there isn't one this week as it looks like there are different chefs every day.

Are they doing a come-back programme this time? It seems to have been a fixture of the last few years - we might not be safe from Charlie or Miles.

Not a big fan of power apron week - it seemed a bit of a damp squib last time.
