Heroes, right mimi? God that takes me back!

If indeed it is that, then Hayden Panatierre is who Elise reminds me of (flippin power apron ... ugh)

But as Nicolette just pointed out, and Elise is just discovering, she's not able to make a sauce because she's frying! Ooops.

Luke Nguyen is looking scarily like Sue Perkins tonight
I was looking at him and trying to work out who (and it was a woman) he reminded me of.

So today's power apron is exactly the same as winnng an ordinary mystery box, plus half an hour.

Game changer? Really?

Has he been approached to do Bake Off on 4 yet?

tough challenge to stay within the rules

If she hadn't screwed up royally by spending all that time prepping to make a stock/jus then I think it could've made a massive difference...she could've made doughnuts or something and the extra 30 would have been the difference between doughy and gorgeous.

yeah i was thinking that its not really that much of an advantage today considering its basically her against everyone else to keep the apron

Troo dat!

Tracy (?) was just as flaky with it when she got, iirc. They seem to lose common sense when they put it on.

It's the same (I think) when people win an immunity pin. They start to think that they're completely immune to bad decisions, and start making them all over the place. Do any of them have one left now?

Where are people watching Masterchef Australia? I used to love this show but it disappeared off my TV after series 3 or 4.

It's on Watch Monday-Friday (time varies depending on the day, today it's 7.30 - 9pm, tomorrow it's 8-9, Wednesday 7-8)...

He should have crisped them up with his laser-eyed stare

Anyone else expect Luke to start this round by yelling "Bake!"

I'm cross with Zoe, why did she pick up another snapper? And to say she didn't have time to taste her sambal is ridiculous

Either that or something to do with choosing what they have to do - I can't think of anything else they could have her do to justify it being called power. I hope it's saving one of them. Then the next one in line would have to take their place. Step up, Brett.

They've done that before haven't they?

Yes, Brett was incredibly lucky that on the night there were worse meals than his soggy chips and okay fish.

Well, interesting episode. First up, CRICKET PRALINE PARFAIT, ferchrissakes. STOP MAKING WEIRD PARFAITS AND CUSTARDS, PEOPLE.

Anyone else expect Luke to start this round by yelling "Bake!"

Also, she flung a huge fish into a bath of flaming hot oil and was surprised when it all got a bit burny. Whoops....

For me the problem with the power apron (apart from sounding a bit rubbish, the "power apron"!!) is that it's generally just what the advantage SHOULD have been for winning whatever challenge it was they got it for. The normal mystery-box-winning advantage is pretty pants, to be honest.

Oh, by the way, Matt's gargly "5 minutes to go" yell had me laughing like a drain. Sounded like he was underwater or something

I'm really rooting for Anastasia (and Matt & Harry ) Love how her mind works and I really enjoy watching her cook.

She's very quietly confident and competent - hope she makes final week at least.

I have a soft spot for Zoe but she had a massive brain fart today and just couldn't get her shit together

Shame we're going to lose a good cook tomorrow when some of the deadwood are still knocking about
