"anyways i'm off to have some prawn head sorbet, with chocolate covered broccoli explosions and a black olive and pistacchio crumb for breakfast"
Ha! Ha! Loved that 🍤🍦🍛🍢 Was a little surprised to see Chloe in cook-off. Would have put money on Trent & Nicolette in the final two. The other contestants looked shocked at the praise Trent received. A fire inspired dish? My first thought was chilli! Where was the chilli? Not even a hint if it in the chocolate ganache! Nicolette missed a trick there IMO. |

I am so over all the flipping desserts. Wish the judges would start pulling them up on it. Nicolette's 'best bits' when she left were all desserts! Gah.

Caught up. AHHH. We're not getting rid of Chloe any time soon are we? Oh god she's going to be in the final isn't she, crying and smugging all over the place.
As predicted having seen all the negativity from Chloe and Nicolette's failure being lumped on Nicolette through the editing, she goes home. God forbid blubbing Chloe gets blamed. A shame for Nicolette as I thought she was talented and creative, despite her dessertiness. I like Elise's resting bitch face. She saw the shells and was just WTF, prefer that to Chloe's gurning and tears. Elise isn't there to butter up the judges. Elise scoffs at your shells! |

No, but I have noticed that the word "perfect" is being over-used.
With Chloe the 'and it's perfect' smugness is cranked up to 11

To whoever it was (sorry, I can't remember who now!) said that Luke (I can't remember his surname) looks like Sue Perkins - I'm currently watching Bake off. That's all I can think off. Thank you!

This is my first series of MCA and the number of parfaits is gobsmacking.
They should have removed the blast chiller and forced them to think outside the icebox. As for the outcome of this week, it does smack of 'fix'. As ever with these shows, we only see what the producers want us to see. We only hear what the judges are told to say. But there are clear 'favourites' in the room - people who can do no wrong. And it is rather galling to see decent cooks going when weaker candidates get by with big hair and big tears. Is it always like this? |

As I've mentioned several times before in the thread, it is the format and the judges that are encouraging the dessert frenzy by being so impressed by things like ice-cream. So people are just learning one recipe (ice cream, parfait, sorbet) etc and flavouring it. It seems they are actually encouraging it (bleurgh at Matt telling them to do desserts in the mystery box to 'stand out' lol are you kidding) so chances of them taking away the blast chiller are slim - unfortunately! |

Wait so... in the middle of an elimination and her meltdown they make her talk to the camera? The kid is like... 19!
Despite the fact that this is turning into MasterPastryChef the tick with the flambé over the meringue looked the part... |

PARFAIT ALERT
PARFAIT ALERT She's doing a blue cheese parfait. I knew as soon as I saw those ingredients someone was doing a parfait. Absolutely predictable. |

Yay, first parfait of the night...
Risk? Making a parfait. Because that's never been done before. |

Is this the Anastasia show? Anyone else get the feeling that her time in the show is coming to an end?

They're struggling a bit for mystery box themes, aren't they? The majority of the ingredients are pretty common ingredients, I would have thought. |

That's usually the pattern at this stage, I think - the more we see of them the more likely they are to be getting the chop soon.

But this was "ugly" food rather than "unusual." The ingredients are sort of ugly but I actually like the idea of trying to the two fruits. They've done leftovers already, I like that one...would love to see them asked to do variations on a theme - "here's a classic dish make your own version of it...and no that doesn't mean you can make a dessert version half the room."
Someone should tell George that colour isn't good for trousers on TV. I keep thinking he's not wearing any.

Oh yes, I know it was ugly not unusual, but there wasn't much there to spark many interesting dishes, I didn't think.
