Speaking of mushrooms - what exactly was that thing that Karmen cooked yesterday? Was it savoury?

Gelatine?

Well this vegetarian dish just ceased to be veggie!!
There is kosher Gelatin, which is vegetarian. Not sure what it's made of, but it's not a meat by-product

Anastasia's going. She's not finished, she's nowhere near finished and she's crying. Yep, Ana's had it.

With that much gelatine, it would set slightly firmer if she didn't make up the volume difference - and that might alter the consistency of the final sauce
suppose but i dont see it making much of a difference making up the 50ml the way she did

as far as I can tell, there isn't a vegetarian Gelatin in sheet form

on this years series the lines between sweet and savoury are pretty blurred

it was a blue cheese ice cream in a tuile made from morel mushrooms

It's the closest I have seen Anastasia come to having a personality. She has seemed so bland up to this point. Competent but timid

Remember the Elena edit last week, she was done and crying and had the best dish...

However I am fearful. She's all over the shop.

There is one - Dr Oetker makes a leaf vege-gel. Surprised they just said gelatine, though, it does sound suspicious!

Good point, Anastasia needs to go all Elena!

Reminds me, she's now one of my three picks for the win along with Matt and Harry

I think I would go up to the gantry and tell them all to shut the f&ck up. Their constant 'support' is just beyond the pale - especially Elise's passive-aggressive taunting.

Anastacia's looks like a dog's dinner. And it just takes the others making a better looking complete dish and she's out the door.

Heather's cut hers a little bit messily...but it's all down to the taste now I think.

Everything that she is shown saying just comes over as negative and critical

But if Anastasia did a decent chiffonade of her beet leaves, with the right amount of cream...but yeah, her Wellington looked horrendous

I have to say this is one of the reasons I love the judges. George knows that he has to get the contestant to focus and stop over thinking. By looking them in the eye and getting them essentially to forget the reason for their tears and focus on the actual issue at hand, it really helps.

It may sound a bit MPWish but he only does it when someone needs to just stop and focus on the immediate task at hand.

And at least he never includes "when I was a boy..." and no thumb and forefinger pressed together to accentuate the point

Did I see Chloe tears glistening? Take a drink!!!
