That's two of my top 3 in elimination in one fell swoop 🙄

I think that the saying "if the wind changes your face will stick like that" would be horrifying for Elise if it were true, the fake shock O that she makes is so insincere. I think that deep down she's jumping up and down in "OMG thank goodness someone was worse than me," happiness.

It's odd - I know I saw the spoiler and the winner very very early on, possibly before the whole series even started, but now, I can't remember who it was. I have literally no idea.

That's good, surely?

Now I am going to watch someone other than Candice (I am keeping my fingers crossed so tightly) win GBBO (I don't know why, but I have warmed to her about as much as I warmed to Nadiya last year).

A dessert challenge? Who'd've thunk it?! Lots of coulis tonight, wasn't there, two raspberry coulis and a cherry one? Coulii?

Not surprised Gary was disappointed at that Japanese rock garden, it certainly didn't look very appetising. The black forest one, on the other hand. that looked delicious!

Apart from the great desire to throw everything in liquid nitrogen, there isn't much "Heston" about this Heston week, is there? I take the phoning it in comment, but it's not really been well set up for anything but that from him.

i agree, feels like a waste of him being there tbh

i was hoping one of the pop-ups they would maybe have to do a menu of his dishes or something with him manning the pass, but doesn't look likely

Wasn't our night Raye1774

I still want Matt to win but should I say I don't to give him a chance? Lol

Btw someone was saying earlier about comeback contestants. Wasn't series 1 runner up Poo a comeback contestant? (Another one I really didn't like!)

The way the editing was all about Elise & Theresa it set it up for them to be in elimination so was surprised when they survived. How Elise is still in this competition might be even more surprising than Sun makes New York week in S3!

Triton, were the local forums commenting on the abundance of parfait S/ pastry queens this season or is it just us whinging Brits?!
If it came up I don't remember it. I don't think I picked up on all the parfaits. In these shows I keep hearing about ice cream, parfait, sorbet, mousse, meringue etc. etc. again and again in desserts. To me they are all just repetitive "dessert elements" so if the same one keeps coming up I won't necessarily notice.

I will be glad when this week is over. Pop-up challenges are all well and good but this is overloaded and becoming dull.

Sadly the right pair went into blacks tonight - just too many mistakes.

Me too, dark chocolate and cherries is the stuff of dreams

But I couldn't eat 3 chocolate courses, that's too much
It's too much for me as well. It's one of those things where I have to be in the mood to eat.

Definitely! Except that I also don't like suspense, so I googled again and I do know who won.

Anyone know how many more weeks we have of this series? I'm back at work the week after next (after 3 months off sick ) and it would be such a shame if I couldn't watch the last ones live (I work shifts)

Tonight is ep 44, and I believe that there are around 67/68 episodes, so we're still talking at least another four weeks.

3 weeks after this maybe

9 down to 7 next week

7 down to 5 the week after and then iirc they eliminate someone every night in finals week

just guessing tho, haven't looked at epg and scared to google

Thanks lovelies I mean I *could* eek it out a bit more.... but probably best that I don't! Hopefully the shifts will fit nicely with the last ones...

I don't think I've added my ire to the lack of Heston in Heston week

they'll be having a hunger games style fight to the death to see who gets to do the dessert course

If he's the person that decided to do 'pop-up week' then he should have just said "don't want to do it." This week has just not been what I have come to think of as what has previously been one of the most challenging weeks for the contestants.

Not loving the amount of Harry based VT's at the beginning - I really really want him and Mimi to do well today

I am a little concerned about Mimi right now. She's not started even prepping her course and Theresa and Elise have both reached that point though they were shown their recipes after her. Risky.

i think mimi missed the point of the brief a little

they weren't meant to follow the recipe to the letter just do a dish inspired by it, so all she needed was a rough idea of the dish the recipe was for
