And wow, Heather's business is very random, flavoured butters? Masterclass time, now I need to find something else to watch. |

heather had probably one of the easiest colours regarding the brief as well
the decision was a bit inconsistent imo they said 3 people didn't meet the brief but hers was quite obviously yellow, just it wasn't very good, so if she had met the brief shouldn't it have came down to a decision between just the 2 people that didn't as far as taste was concerned ? not saying it was the wrong decision as i thought the brief was stupid, just the way they explained it didn't make sense |

Not that I want her to; but given the amount of times Chloe has survived, I won't be that surprised if she wins.

Ok, indigo is very tough for this challenge, but "my granny liked indigo and night skies are indigo and she told me stuff about fairies at nighttime so here is a dish that is entirely white on a white plate" is waaaay too tenuous. Saved by yellow lemon coffee slop, frankly. Talking to Matt with 5 minutes to go...I reckon that was a attempt at an elimination-avoiding judge intervention, to try and ensure he met the brief. Neat way of trying to help keep one of the favourites in? Conspiracy theory too far? As someone else said, surely blueberries were the way to go for this challenge, it was the first thing I thought of. Other stuff? Parfait is the word of this series, and liquid nitrogen the phrase of Heston week (seriously, is that Heston's contribution to MCA - everything has to be nitrogened in his honour?!), so a liquid nitrogen freakin' parfait is TICKING ALL THE CHECKBOXES. |

They definitely nudged Matt but they do this with other contestants, telling them to redo elements or rethink ideas etc.
I thought it was more of a fix the way they got rid of Heather. I don't mind that they did, I don't think she was good enough, but saying that none of them followed the brief so it came down to taste was completely wrong, and said only for one reason - to keep in Chloe, who I can't stand. Joy. Am I the only person who likes Theresa? She seems really nice. Did anyone else think it was very cruel of Elena to take the blue swimmer crab? I wasn't paying much attention but I saw him manically looking around for something blue and her merrily cutting up what was probably put in the pantry for the person who got blue. She must have taken it before Matt even saw it? |

Blue and Indigo were the worst possible colours - and I do feel for those who got them.
Blueberries aren't actually blue - they deliver a purple colour and so I wouldn't have gone near them. However I would have been tempted to head to the garden and look for the edible flowers with a blue tint and start creating from there. Setting the flower petals in a flavoured jelly over the top of a beautifully flavoured dessert (probably echoing some of the herb scents mixed with some citrus) with some textural elements. The flowers would have drawn the eye - established the colour and not detracted from the flavours of the dish. As far as Indigo - for some reason my first thought was squid ink - which is more blue-black then pure black. A night sky seafood dish - with each of the fishy elements shining like stars against the background of a squid ink coloured sauce.... Overall it was an interesting challenge and Heather had to go as she put up the worst dish - irrespective of the brief. Chloe does seem to be some sort of culinary Houdini - she just keeps on escaping. |

Trent got away with a couple of violet flowers!
Why didn't Chloe turn her plate over - it was dark blue underneath - although she didn't need to in the end - she struggles with conceptual challenges. Thought Brett's green ant dish was brilliant. Can't believe Heather didn't realise her soufflé thingy wouldn't flop! Why not make it in a ramekin? Some strange choices last night, especially as they had 75 minutes. Feels like Theresa was let go early on in the series so that she could go and get some training as she was the biggest 'flapper' ever but now is the most confident dessert cook - obviously because of Reynaud IMHO. Elena is my favourite 👍 More savoury dishes PLEASE. |

How on earth did Chloe get away with that
, realise that Heather's looked a dogs dinner but at least it was a yellow dogs dinnerNow waiting for a seafood challenge where Chloe puts up a beef dish explaining granny used to tell her the story of when she saw little baby moo cows swimming like dolphins !! |

Was there no food colouring in the pantry or is that just too obvious?

![]() Watching this, I am so pleased I've got a fast-forward button. ![]() ![]() It was an unfair challenge, imo - violet isn't easy, blue is difficult and indigo even more, compared to the rest. Although Heather managed to mess an easy one up. I used to love lemon delicious - didn't realise it was particularly Australian, I used to make it all the time when I needed a pud. There's a chocolate self saucing one that's equally as yum! |

I thought at first it was because it was too obvious but when Trent just chucked flowers on his I changed my mind! I still think Matt should have used blueberries somehow. Yes they're not actually blue but it's in the name so it would have done if flowers passed OK.

But Trent did use a lot of purple, he made a load of stuff with beetroot etc. Heather had the easiest colour ever, why would you make something in a large bowl only to make it look like a mass of gloop on a plate, for that error alone she really deserved to go home. If she'd put it in a souffle dish or something instead it would have looked much more presentable.

Especially if you leave it in the dish you cook it in so that you dig to the bottom for the sauce. Rather than having lumps of ot sloshing about. |

I wouldn't call beetroot purple myself, it's more crimson to me, so I'd put it with the reds. Another reason it wasn't a good choice for a challenge. I'm blue/green colour blind - I could have served up what I'm told are the dark greens like broccoli and kale happily as dark blue.
.The number of times you and I agree I'm beginning to wonder if I am posting as you in my sleep lol It was a very unfair elimination challenge. Surely for elimination they should have a level playing field! At least Matt survived thought |

I thought it was unfair too. What really, (I'm quite severely colourblind) can you make with foods that are blue, violet and indigo? Red, orange, green and yellow were, imo, easy.
