I reckon Mimi and Theresa are sure things for bottom 3 - I would have thought an apricot and chicken curry was inventive enough to save Trent, but the edit suggests it's between him and Matt

That was a really condescending piece of feedback from Gary. For a moment I wondered if Trent was going to just throw the food in his face - seriously there was no need for him to say that, either it was good or it wasn't...
if someone cooks a piece of chicken in a water bath which requires no skill, and adds a great sauce, it gets raved about if someone makes a well balanced curry its somehow considered less worthy |

Elise got praise for being inventive in the mystery box challenge despite making the nougat/sphere/meringue/crumb combo she pretty much always makes, given the choice. I wondered if the comment was meant ironically.
Brett's suddenly found some form! Actually making the advantage work for him was impressive. |

And April Fools Day in Oz?
![]() Think Mimi should comfortably beat off Trent and Theresa tomorrow. When I say think I mean desperately hope. |

What a strange episode. I know they like to build drama - but the world doesn't need recipes for pork and condensed milk, it really doesn't.
And as for apricot chicken - I would rather have eaten a curry than an anemic bit of flesh from a waterbath. Meat needs the maillard reaction, it really does. Elise didn't do anything creative - just fancied up some standard cooking by placing small quantities to one side of a large plate (which has to be one of the worst styles of modern food presentation - if I am paying for a plate of food, I want it full. Not a line taking up about 10% of the available space!) |

(I can hope, can't I? With a ticking crocodile waiting for him? )Still too many ponytails left for my liking. Maybe Theresa's could go this time - Mimi seems pretty inoffensive. Trent should come in wearing one to complete the set. |

I do not dislike Mimi but I honestly cannot stand her constant use of her hands to express her points when she is doing her chat to the camera, I am all for expressing yourself when you speak but half the time its not even in context to what she is actually trying to say, granted it may be a nerves thing but it is soooo annoying!!!
As for Elise her Voice is so boyish, for anyone who has watched Neighbours I swear if you watched the show blind you would think it was Chris Milligan aka Kyle talking, she actually looks very similar to him as well ha. |

I spent the whole episode wondering what the pressure test is going to be, they really laboured the fact that it's the hardest in Masterchef history. Probably a raspberry emulsion delicately placed in a tempered chocolate sphere balanced on a vanilla and beef parfait which is sitting on a pistachio soil and they have to do it with blindfolds on.

It is a dessert - a Cherry Lamington
There is a lot of liquid nitrogen involved in this one (I have looked up the recipe and it really isn't as tough as the judges were making out last night) |

I think that Theresa is in trouble. She knows that there is something wrong with the jam, that it's too sweet, but she's not making any effort to figure out what it is...

i'm getting really fed up with the VTs where the contestant says "if i dont get element X right, then i'll be going home"
we get basically the exact same VT every elimination |
