And I'm all caught up! The right result without a doubt

The red herring regarding Matts sauce had me worried momentarily, Elena's actual red herring had me worried not a jot

My top 3 of Matt, Harry and Elena remain intact
My top 3 too !!
See next week they are off to California, that should be good.

Bags of time. She could hollow out the middle. And do soil too, for a change.

ETA: she never learns, does she? It's always 'I've done it before only not with these ingredients and completely differently'. Maybe this'll be the time it really comes back to bite her.
What was that you were saying?

You should change your name to Mystic Meg.

25% chance of being right on that one. You should see me when there's only two choices. It goes up to 50%.

Chloe deserved to go - was incredibly lucky to get gifted all the dessert ingredients because she was up against cooks rather than bakers. She was given every opportunity with her generic dessert

I went out for dinner on Saturday, and I had the parfait for dessert. It made me smile. There was no goat's cheese in it though, and there was nothing spherical. AND it was in the middle of the plate, not way over to the side with a smear. It was very nice though.

I like the sound of Matt's thing. 100% chocolate mousse sounds vile though!

I've tried a tiny square of 100%. It sucked all the moisture out of my mouth, took me most of the day to rehydrate the inside of my mouth. He's going to have to be very very careful.

They're rather overselling Californian produce, aren't they? It's no better than what they can get at home.

I know - it's incredibly rich and has such a strong flavour, and of course Smugface is going to make a brownie with it!

The amount of negative comment almost every attractive female contestant is guaranteed to get each year never fails to always amuse me. It always happens.
I'm in a neutral position, observing more than participating from afar every year, having already seen each series, and I've never felt that attractive females are more harshly treated here than anyone else.

They've been a bit disingenuous with this episode - there's no way they sent them all off to get whatever they liked. They could have ended up with all crabs or all chocolate. They must have been pushed towards one type of ingredient, even if they weren't told exactly what to get.

Oh great, Elise has taken over the Weepy MC WeepPerson role. I suppose that means what she's made will be beeeeaaaauuudiful.

There definitely would have been more of a leaning towards ingredients favouring the sweeter side, I think, though that said we are more balanced now that Chloe, Karmen and Theresa are gone.

I thank my meds for that bit...but I meant (as I know you know) the competition is more balanced with the sweet/savoury...

The judges seem to like the idea, though, so maybe he'll be OK.

Hope the judge borscht sauce hate was misdirection and Elena saves her dish. At least she takes notice of what they say and doesn't just plough on regardless.

i just always think a carpacchio is a bit of a cop out, maybe its because i cant stand the idea of raw meat tho

Carpaccio is quite hard to get really right...it's not easy to get the slices of meat thin enough and ensure that you don't destroy it when you 'beat' it thin. Then there's the bits which go with it.

Smug isn't going to be bearable now!

I don't like meat anyway so raw or cooked makes no odds to me!

Maybe she'll decide she's queen of savoury now and fall flat on her face. I didn't notice what the Pirate had done - I wonder if his good run has come to an end yet.

I think that the person in trouble tonight is Mimi. She's overcooked the meat AND she's emphasising the walnuts too much, when the focus was meant to be the beef. That could be her undoing.

They like it! Could be Elena in trouble.

And Matt too.

Thank goodness Elise didn't win the day. Good on Trent.

I wasn't paying my attention at the beginning (I know, not like me ) so I didn't realise there were no consequences for the worst dish. Phew.

This work thing don't half get in the way of my TV watching!

Anyway, all caught up now - really surprised that Trent got DOTD, looked tasty as hell, but not very 'chefy' and a distinct lack of negative space on the plate

The Pirate did a protein, a puree and a pickle. Never have I been less shocked

And smoked a bit of it. His days are surely limited...
