At the moment none of the courses have been any good, so it's anyone's guess who will be going into elimination.
Might be all of them, or it might just be a case of least bad makes it through!

Didn't Alla say that she'd make Elise do the purée again and again if she didn't get the colour right? Guess the flavour was secondary!
That always happens on these kind of service challenges. The owner/chef makes a lot of noise about not letting everything go unless it's perfect and inevitably it goes anyway. The only real exception to this is MC: Professionals I think, and even there the contestants are pro anyway so there's not that much likelihood of them putting up something substandard.

Is there nothing he can't do?!

Yes, I reckon Elena did better than the other three but you can never be sure.

Mimi and Elise are the first two announced to go through to elimination. Mimi seemed to lose track of what she was doing, and Elise didn't take enough care with what she was making, using things incorrectly.

Harry made a few mistakes with the way he composed his dish and Elena made her gel too thick, but I think she probably redeemed herself with the flavour.

Tough call when it's my no.2 against my no.3!

I think we all want the same person to go tomorrow? Mimi always seems to do incredibly well in pressure tests

Which she did!

I suspect Mimi has gone as far as she can, in fact I think she's gone further! But I'd prefer Elise to go.

If it's a cook tomorrow I hope it's a savoury, though.

They are reinventing their audition dishes tomorrow - which should allow them each to play to their strengths

Oh wonderful, another blinking dessert from smug then. I think (including tonight) there have been single digit mains from her.

Certainly from the early edit I thought Elise was going to prove me wrong and show us that actually she can do mains fine but just chooses not to by playing it safe and by the numbers all the time.

Turns out...no, she sticks to the icecreams and parfaits for a reason.

Yay Matt and Elena are through well deserved! Matt showed he can actually make a really complex dessert to a high standard with no errors.

I knew Elise would be in the bottom as soon as she had savoury as we all know desserts and parfaits are her speciality. Its just not good enough at this stage you need to be able to master both.

I thought Harry should have gone through to the quarterfinals

It is just me who thought the final dessert looked quite messy? I'd rather have Christy's Mystique from the other pressure test

I think it was meant to - from what Matt was told it's meant to look like a ramble in the countryside, prepared with seasonal fruits.

So Mimi and Elise reinvent their main dishes into desserts - what a surprise.

There was potential for both girls to prove how much they'd developed through the competition but instead they are falling back on stuff they have been doing all along. Shame, their boxes could have both been made into really good main courses.

But it could be deceptive, things aren't going to time for Elise and things seem to be going TOO smoothly for Mimi at the moment, though that said, she's not got the goat's cheese she thought she had!

There's been too much Harry for it to be him, I think. Plus he's taking advice and acknowledging his mistakes, something Elise never seems to do. And Mimi hasn't got much time to think of a way out of her not goat cheese problem..

I think that Harry will manage to pull it together at the last minute...and all it takes is for one of the others to have a massive issue (e.g. mousse not being set, or lack of flavour balance because of lack of correct ingredients) and he's safe.

Surely that dish is exactly who Elise is - making a dessert out of a bunch of ingredients better suited to a savoury.

And that brownie is not cooked properly, or it wouldn't be sinking like that in the middle. My brownies never dip like that even when slathered in thick whipping cream *boast boast boast* <---me feeling smug.
