Me too
I used to put an egg cup full of it in the freezer and then eat it with a teaspoon! The Toffee was my fave and then the mint! |

Annoyingly I am out for the next two nights - so will be watching on catch-up....
But I am happy with any of the top 3 winning - I would prefer either of the boys, but I suspect Elena will win the crown |

I'd say Harry's the weakest left, but a service challenge is always tough to predict.

of those that got to the last 8 that is undoubtedly the right final three
think the reaction and way the judges and others spoke of elise will make some on here embarassed about the abuse they have been giving her |

I think we got an inkling of her "one trick pony" act frustrating her fellow competitors tonight... If this had been any other Masterchef other than Masterchef Aus she would have been called out on this a long long time ago...

Elise knew the game was up even before Gary's pretty blunt response about her doing a parfait and the tears and all that - the little look to camera and smile when she said "yep I'm doing a parfait" was a dead giveaway.
For some reason all the stuff we've been saying about Elise for ages manifested itself in a single challenge. Bit bizarre but not complaining. Apparently it's abusive to say this, though. This stuff that the judges have said that we've been saying for ages. OK. I don't know who specifically that was aimed at, but if folk think I've been abusive about her, well I apologise, but I don't believe I have been, I think I have just consistently pointed out the body of evidence of what ultimately got her eliminated today and that is "good at desserts but limited in scope". Harry was a bit lucky today and although George said it was all about taste I think the factoring of Elise's sameiness saved him. I think he's good but he's the weakest of those remaining so might be up against it now. |

Nope, not even slightly. Everyone is quite good humoured in our comments about Elise, as we have discussed before. And even if the judges and contestants did have an inkling of it, they're hardly going to mention it, MCA is not that sort of program
wouldn't like to see what she would have been called if it had got nasty ... by all means have a pop at her about her limited approach to cooking but some of the stuff being said was personal, and as i said above, based on the reaction from the judges and other contestants, people who had actually spent time with her, i thought uncalled for |

solar, you have nothing to apologise for! Like you said, what we've been saying for ages was finally picked up on tonight.
I can't imagine any one of the top three saying that they will 'play to their strengths'* * If anyone does say it over the next couple of nights, I will be so cross!! |

Tomorrow should be even tenser than tonight. And I still can't drink!!!!!!

As the eliminated contestants have been hanging around since the masterclass for no obvious reason than to make nuisances of themselves on the gantry, do you think they'll be picking some to be their brigade for the service challenge? I think they've done that before and it could throw a spanner into the works.

They would only have to have 2 or 3 of them, so no one will get lumbered with Jimmy 😄 |

BTW, GBBO isn't shown everywhere at the same time.
Re: pages 53 & 76. Raye1774, can you please not post spoilers for shows outside their own threads, particularly contestants' names. Anyone can be reading this and, like MCA and MKR in the UK, elsewhere in the world doesn't see shows till long after they are shown in their own countries. |

FINALLY! The one-trick pony is sent packing.
Although, I feel sorry for her that the competition allowed a default to what she knew, time after time. I think it's an all-out battle between Matt and Elena for the crown. As it should be. |

I counted 17 on the gantry, so three are missing including brett.

Well I'm glad Elise has gone and still think she shouldn't have got as far as she did by cooking a limited range of desserts.
The boys seemed to have evolved from a preference to cooking savoury to doing desserts and I think Matt said it well when he said you can't hide behind cooking just one style you have to be able to do both. The best 3 are in the final and I'd be happy with any of them winning although I would prefer Matt to win I think Elena is going to win it. |

I've been waiting for weeks for you to get to that episode, knowing that the other contestants were thinking exactly the same as people here about Elise's parfaits, and finally said so.

Delighted Elise went, not because I don't like her (although the just a girl from Cairns bit did start to grate) but because she was never extending herself or trying to expand her culinary skills. To win this show you need to be at least competent in both savoury and dessert and to do that you need to try. That is why people should always extend themselves and try things in the mystery box and there are no consequences of failing, she rarely if ever did that. Also it isn't like she put up a wide variety of desserts, it was always a variation of a very similar theme.
I think Matt and Elena are clearly better than Harry (as a couple have already said) and if that is the final, I think the cream has very much risen to the top. Elena seems to be in the box seat. She is calm and thoughtful. Matt is as well but it seems as though nothing is fazing Elena at the moment. As for the gantry, I forgot how much I missed Anastasia's smile. Also Chloe looked so different with her hair down, it took me ages to realise who she was! |

GibsonGirl, I've been following MCA and MKR threads here for years and it's normal for contestants' attitudes and behaviour to be brought up, positively and negatively, and there's a variety of colourful ways people do that. I'm not sure what's happened here to make negative comments unacceptable all of a sudden when they aren't anywhere else on the internet. Have you read the comments about Lauren in the MKR thread?
And I can't believe anyone would complain about the use of "pirate". That was funny when it first came up and has only been used in good humour since. |

It's been a good series this one.
I've liked all the contestants with the possible exception of Matt - 'I've never done this before' ... he clearly had the widest skill set from the get go and has sounded less than convincing with all the last minute .... 'and then it came to me!'. But he's OK - and everyone else has been lovely. I'd like Harry to win .... but that's not going to happen I don't think. |

As good as Harry is, I don't think he can win this. Not too sure who can win out of Elena and Matt. |
