I'm disappointed they didn't tell us what Harry's doing now.

I'm so disappointed that the show is finishing, it is by far the best cookery show on TV in every way, gripping, informative, heart warming at times. The judges are brilliant, this year the contestants have been really likeable, doesn't appear to be any favouritism as with a couple of past years and also not particularly annoying contestants (after Jimmy left!) who have all seemed to massively support each other which is nice to watch and the right 2 in the final.

They have made some good tweaks to the show this year, like not allowing the pro chefs when they come in to cook against the contestants for an immunity pin, to have 15 mins thinking time when the contestant is cooking. Which makes it more achievable to win.
keeping Shannon Bennet as the mentor. I have also really liked the guest judges this year, particularly Nigella who I don't normally like. Could do with less of MPW though. Also less of the masterclass episodes as i would rather watch the competition.

Watching MCA is a commitment as there are so many episodes, but it is well worth it. I have loved this year!

MCA are pretty bad for this. You can tell by two things, change of background noise and MCA are pretty linear, if you see them say it, they are saying it live but if you hear it but don't see them say it, its a voiceover.
On this note, I couldn't help but notice that whilst the judges were eating Harry's coffee desert (I think it was anyways) there was this moment where George is praising the dish and then out of nowhere you hear the former contestants on the balcony making a "woop" sound that suddenly cuts out. It sounded incredible false as if the producers wanted to add that background noise to back up George's comments.

It's was about as subtle as a sledgehammer. I mean, we're talking The X Factor UK levels of subtle here!!!

george did involve the past contestants on the balcony when he was eating it, by looking up at them and making a comment, so when he said it was good, it does make sense they would cheer as he had kind of involved them in that part of the tasting.

But if you watch it back, the sound doesn't make any sense. It was clearly pasted in as the wooping sound just started from silence in the background, and then quickly faded back to silence.

They may well have been whooping at something else going on with one of the other contestants, as they could watch all three and seemed to be whooping at anything and everything. Makes for a good atmosphere I guess and motivates the finalists.

My sky recording ended abruptly after Eleana was told she was going through to the finale did the judges give any indication of what will happen in the finale?
(this is the first year i have watched MC Australia)

That was what I thought in live time that they were cheering something that happened in the kitchen. If it was a whoop edit then it was really poorly done.

One note on the final - I think this is the first time in several years I didn't have a clear favourite going into the final. Both Matt and Elena would be worthy winners. So I can watch without getting too worried.

Good, isn't it?! And they both really deserve to be there - no flukes, no one grizzling about favouritism for this or that contestant. Should be a fun couple of hours.

No doubt I'll have something else in my eye around 9pm tonight, as with everyone else, I really don't mind who wins. They are both amazing all round cooks and have presented themselves and their food impeccably throughout.

So I'll still scream at the tellybox should any mistakes be made, but it will purely be because I want them both to excel and for the judges to really have to work to split them over what I will assume will be 3 or 4 rounds of cooking

Elena should get a head start as she generally refers to it as the grand final not the finarleeee

I'm really annoyed at the top four episode, when Elise was eliminated. They let her carry on making desserts all competition, not once questioning it.

Then at the final four, they lay into her and ruin her confidence. It seemed cruel tbh, they could have given her a hint or suggestion at any point, instead they waited until the very end to knock her down, when it was too late to rectify. I have loathed this seasons's dessertathon but it's not Elise's fault.

Not sure if we knew Heston was going to be back for the final? I think we did but I'd forgotten so that is a real bonus for me!

I didn't know about Heston appearing - excellent news!

Can I take this opportunity to mention Matt Preston's clothing choice tonight? He looks like a Dickensian character

And most important of all they are both versatile cooks compare to some eliminated ones and there are few of them who were one tick pony.

Elena needs to get her nerves under control immediately. Matt seems completely focused.

I'm just in so I missed the first half hour - I'm assuming Matt won the first thing, judging by their comments?

I really like both, so I don't mind who wins, but I'm rooting for Matt.

Matt has 26 to Elena's 23 at the moment!
