You really don’t know a housemate until they’ve been up for eviction.

Bear’s courage is admirable. This is his fifth eviction and he’s not once gone whining and crying to BB about how unfair it all is.

In contrast, we have ridiculous wailing little girl Katie, who has reverted to her spoilt X Factor behaviour now she is finally being tested.

So many people on here admired her too.

Well to be fair he didn't react very well initially to them nominating him, but his confidence has grown through the process for obvious reasons.

The last one was a double so this is actually his sixth (and likely seventh).

Bizarrely he acts like a baby when one of his friends are up though. "Bang outta ordah" apparently. Yet he claims to love the game.

There are plenty of others who have taken it on the chin a lot better than Katie AND Bear have.

Not that I think Katie's actions are proper, there is a certain element to having something like that come out of (supposedly) nowhere. Bear knows he'll be up. There's no surprise. No one gets to verbalize (sometimes to his face) week after week what they think of him.

So no, Bear gets no "courage" points from me.

That's always appropriate.

My favorite moment of the series.

It's not really fair to compare Bear and Katie.

Katie is not equipped to deal with this house and all it brings. Bear has what is needed - in spades.

It's kind of a natural thing, one that you can neither take credit for or be criticised for.

But you should be aware when you don't have it - and avoid it like the plague!

Are you conveniently forgetting his "anyone who voted for me, do not speak to me for the remainder of the series" mega strop? Is it coz he's well fit innit and you think one day he'll be your boyfriend?

Any support for Bear has to be some kind of fan-gurling? OK, so you think Katie is well fit and will be your bird some day, do you?

Katie is married and, unlike Bear, wouldn't cheat.

Being up for eviction is the litmus test on BB.

Bear is correct when he says that several of them haven't been tested.
There's a famous quote about how the only true test of character is when a person is under stress.

Her first marriage fell apart because she cheated. This is her second, age 30.

It is a test but I think for a lot of people - Katie included - it's not so much being up but the blow to the ego being nominated. Particularly by those you consider friends. I think it hurts some more than others and that's what they're reacting to rather the being up bit.

Bear doesn't have to 'suffer' that each week. After the initial blow getting eternal nom, which I believe he (understandably) didn't deal well with, it's no longer personal if that makes sense.

So, for me, Katie being nominated isn't necessarily comparable to Bear being up.

I'm no Katie fan, but I agree with others who say that they aren't comparable.

Especially (again as others have said) we have seen a variety of hissy fits from Bear himself when the noms don't go ''his'' way.

He is a hypocrite in that respect.

He almost wept when he received the eternal nomination. But yes he is handling being nominated more admirably these days.

Yep, but he's only had to deal with that once.

He's had chance to accept that he's up everytime (and plan to do what looks best )

I've never seen a housemate react so badly to being nominated just four days before the final. She used to scream and squirm about being in the final two on the XF too.

I agree with you, but I didn't compare Bear's nomination to Katie's. Just that his point was correct. I'm not sure if you were addressing me though or if you were speaking in reference to the OP.
Nowadays I think they shouldn't be so naive and blindly trust the other housemates in the belief that they are real friends. I include Bear in this.
They know that it is a game so should be prepared for being stitched up by fellow housemates.

It's true that when Bear received his eternal nomination he threw his toys out of the pram. But it's only been more recently where we've seen the facade of other housemates crumble in the light of facing the stress of being nominated. Katie and Sam probably being the best two examples. They're all bright eyed and bushy tailed when they're comfortable and feel a sense of security, but scratch the surface even just a little bit and we can see more of their true characters which are just under the skin.

Wee Tinkers is correct, Bear throws his toys out of the pram on his 'friends' behalf (as if he gives a **** about Marnie?), as even he realises it would be totally ridiculous to whinge about himself being nominated again

brave, my arse ?

Katie is a total dick as well

I don't think much can justify Katie's behavior. She's annoyed Frankie nominated her but she nominated him, so pathetic.
