Nice to see Alice Cooper joining in the fun though.

Walliams is not the right person to be host. The host should be unhappy to be hosting such a trashy, ridiculous, cheap show. Jack Dee springs to mind.

David Walliams should be where Kenny Everett sat

He was the right host however he was acting the straight man and no campness at all. If he camped it up then it would have worked perfect.

As for Jack Dee what planet are you on, he is the most boring and not funny person i know

Its not just the host. There needs to be some sort of spark between them and the panel. Joe Lycett tried but he is a bit left field for a teatime quiz.

It didn't help that the woman who won the holiday looked like she would rather be anywhere else but there either.

There should be tension between the host and the panel, the host is slightly down-trodden, the guests are considered higher status, but the host knows he's smarter than them and gently derides them and their stupid answers. The guests occasionally take the mick out of the host. The host has bite his tongue.

But if he'd acted silly and trying to get a cheap laugh every 30 seconds the show would have seemed stupid. Les Dawson was a comedian but he took it seriously when it came down to it.
I think Dale Winton would be a great host. He's got that thing about him that appeals to all ages

Another thing. If he had camped it up it would have made the show seem all about him when it's really about the contestants trying to win prizes.

BBC did this with Rob Brydon but named it something else, he was a far wittier presenter and was better at making fun of all the celebs.

Paul O'Grady did host a one-off for Comic Relief. I think he really doesn't want to return to the show, since he said on it "oh and if anyone upstairs says 'why don't we recommission the show'.. let's not keep in touch okay!" lol.

I thought it was alright, wasn't that impressed with Walliams and could have done without Louis Walsh.

I thought Joe Lycett was the best part, I like his "little friend" I might be biased though since I love him as a comedian.

You're thinking of The Guess List. I didn't think it was that bad but did consist more of Rob ripping into the guests and not enough gameplay - maybe a half hour rather than 40 minute slot might have been better for it. But it didn't seem to connect with viewers.

I thought it was a passable hour of tosh and no worse than most of the crap that has been passed off as 'Festive Entertainment' in the last ten days.

At least there seem to be some watchable programmes on next week, that'll make a welcome change.

I've OD'd on Walliams, he's everywhere. He's an acquired taste that I've never acquired.
Agree he is too smutty for me to crude and unfunny with ott

I didn't see it, but I'm getting fed up of seeing David Walliams everywhere. Could we have a break from him? Please?
