I think XFactor will stuggle more than ever this year
Strictly has a great line up this year!
I think XFactor will sink even more in the ratings than previous years |

It will struggle regardless of who is on Strictly. X Factor is dead. Why the cretinous Simon can't see that I don't know? Instead of endless revamps and returns it's time to just admit defeat.
Unfortunately this is what happens when you are a deluded barcissist surrounded by yes men and brown nosers who indulge your every whim. |

The only way X Factor can turns round is by going back to basics and pretend it's 2006 or 2008 all over again.
Have some genuinely excellent singers in the live shows. The type of singer whose performance in one of the live shows is so incredible it becomes a viral hit almost by accident. Get people talking about a few of the finalists, and hope the public don't vote them out early on leaving behind a sea of beige when it could've been a sea of epic!!! ![]() Otherwise yes, X Factor is really gonna struggle this year. |

Well on the talent front if Simon wants to pull in more viewers he should actually put in a diverse set of singers and not just Diva Pop singers.

Agree with previous posters.
I think one thing that would help is to have a smart shaven Simon Cowell on the panel instead of the TRAMP he has become!!!!!!: He may think he's 'cool' but - yuk!

I happen to disagree. Strictly and X Factor don't clash as often as you make out and most Strictly viewers watch X Factor as well. X Factor is going back to basics as you can tell. They've got the best judges, whilst some critical DS members will disagree, most people really wanted Sharon, Louis, Dermot to return. X Factor has a tough launch, being a sunny bank holiday weekend but i think it'll do just fine. Apparently, the first episode includes the 'best audition ever seen on any talent show globally' - and nope that wasn't promotion from judges. I missed last year's x factor as it was awful but I'm definitely tuning into this years. It looks like fun.

Why do people who 'dislike' the show read and comment on its forum? It's slightly weird...

I couldn't disagree more with the title of the thread and I think it will be picking up to be the best for a few years

The show will struggle because it has been in decline for many years and last year finally killed the 'buzz' that once surrounded the show.

X Factor used to be THE big thing before year after year it started shooting itself in the foot. Now its just humourous - for some of us older fans, at least - to watch as car crash TV. I'm sure the producers know this too - why else would they hire people like loose cannon Scherzinger and reality tv mogul Sharon Osbourne? Anyway. I'm unsure how it will do this year in ratings. Plus side, they have brought back a lot of the things that it had at its peak. Minus side, it is a more-than-ten-year old show now airing at a time when less than ever people watch TV, especially on a Saturday night, while trying to appeal to an atypical Saturday night TV audience. We shall see! Either way, it will still have its loyal fans. |

I don't think it will be as bad as last year (ratings wise) but I can't see it being anywhere near the smash it used to be. I think Strictly will still be the stronger one out of the two. But who knows, only time will tell.

How much more singing talent is there out there?
This show was finished 10 years ago, and I for one cannot wait for this along with all the other pseudo-reality dirge to finally be wiped from our screens. |

Fans are the people who care enough to criticise something when it changes.

Thanks for adding this worthy topic to the forum.
It's added to the discussion in a super-positive way. /s OP has made an honest post on thier opinions, all are allowed to debate that, positive or negative. |

I think when the ratings started sliding, they panicked and just started crowding the programme with new ideas, and started throwing more and more things at it in a effort to keep it afloat, which ironically was what made it worse......
I mean, last year, when they changed the format of judges houses to have that absolutely cringeworthy half an hour of hearing all the contestants literally beg for a place on the show in front of a live audience was just bloody ridiculous! ![]() I think in TXF case, it's definitely less is more, and I think in general people just want to watch a light entertainment music show that doesn't take itself too seriously, isn't too taxing on the old brain, has some entertaining judges ( cue.....Nicole!) and a mix of good and bad singers,,,,,, ( the good ones inevitably will be the ones we'll root for and the bad ones, in order to spend time on the forums rubbishing... ![]() .)Hence why The Voice isn't as popular, as it is trying to be something it can never be.... |

i think the reason x factor has struggle is because viewers that have freeeview + freesat + and sky + set top boxes record or Pause live tv and viewers can watch x factor again on the ITV Hub and STV Player and another reason people stop watching x factor is people think
x factor is stage, thats why |
