well tomorrow, turn your shower on full and then hold your eyelids open... stand underneath the shower spray and then look up.

Let us know how you get on eh

Do you shower with contact lenses in?

And contact lenses that go behind the eye and can scratch/damage it too - not just the water.

Clearly the op didn't listen properly as she never said the water nearly blinded her.....

The contact lens shot to the back of her eye and that's what caused the damage.

Only once or twice. Vision still intact

Its physically impossible for a contact to move behind the eye.

OP I know you're probably a Bear fan but water squirts in your eye there is a fair amount of force to make your contact lense disappear. It must of hurt like hell and for a medic to be called to retrieve shouldn't really be dismissed as Sam being bitter.

I'm not even a Sam fan.

It was a water bottle. Not a pressure washer

I wonder why they chose not to show it.

And don't forget to wear your contact lenses while you doing it! ( she was wearing contact lenses)

Yep - I've accidently squirted my eye with a hose & it's forceful & hurts! - I'll be surprised if it doesn't get shown!

I wanted to see all the gory intricate details. The medical intervention, and all the procedures in detail.

Sam seemed upset it wasn't broadcast too.

Water hitting your eyes with force, can be very painful.
Couple that with wearing contacts, and you will feel alot of pain. I've had contact lenses push back behind my eyeball. It's very painful, whilst you're trying to roll your eyes back to drag the lense out, or draw it out some way.
I usually have to roll my eyes way back, till my hubby can see the lense, then he drags it down and out.
Not sure I could make it to an A&E in time. The pain would be unbearable.
At least she had fast help on hand.

All the kids watching might copy it.

Wasn't Bear on a final warning? He could have gone for that.

Yes, he is on a final warning. Maybe that's why it wasn't shown.

Sam seemed very determined to tell the whole story. Emma tried to move on, but Sam was having none of it.

This is hysterical

Bear did not invent this. It's been around for a long time. And videos been doing the rounds again on FB lately

Ironic. BB tell HM continually about stupid things, in the interest of health and safety 'oil on the turf' 'paper cocktail umberellas on feather lamp shades' yet, the biggest threat to h + S is a person that is out of control and unable to be stopped by anyone - bear .

he really is the school bully everyone is scared of

back on topic - water hose water hit eye once - it bloody well hurt - felt like foil in my eye

Actually you may want to rethink that. You can get a nasty parasite called acanthamoeba kerastasis from even a drop of water getting onto your contact lenses. It's really deeply unpleasant. Look it up and you'll see!

Apparently, all water has tonnes of different types of bacteria and the acanthamoeba just happens to be one of them.

If untreated, the parasite causes sight problems and paralysis or even death as it eats its way through the eye and into the spinal cord. The treatment to deal with it is pretty gruelling too.

As a contact lense wearer of many, many years I would class this as being at least as bad as the spitting incident that many are still upset about. If not worse, given what I have outlined above. If you wear contact lenses you have to take great care of your eyes to ensure you don't end up with problems. It's also certainly not a harmless prank if the intended recipient asks you not to do it and it could cause serious physical harm!

My god the Bear haters are pulling out the big dramatic guns tonight

The medic was called. Any real concerns she would have been shipped off to A&E to be properly examined.

This is just another example of Sam taking herself way too seriously.

I wonder if BB would have preferred that particular story to be left under the carpet where they had hither to swept it. It goes to show how closed down BB is these days.

I'm actually impartial - I quite like Bear most of the time. I am, however, just pointing out that squirting water into someone's eye when they are wearing contact lenses is a really bad thing to do. Certainly as bad as the spitting thing at the very least.

Anyway, you asked the question about being blinded by water and I gave you a factual answer (under the generous assumption that you weren't being facetious when you asked it).😉
