While I understand where you're coming from - there is WAY too much crime and sensationalism - I do wonder what you mean when you talk about life in a typical rural village? Everyone commuting? Lots of holiday homes? Few facilities?

Well when u think of a village u generally think of a peaceful living community. Of course drama is to be expected with everyone living so tight-knitted but not to this extent. It's like they're all unaware of the blissful nature they're afforded. The way its portrayed is like CSI Yorkshire.

And to the previous comment regarding Paddy, I agree. There's no way back for his character now no matter how sorry he is. The way he acted in that affair was selfish & cowardly. He tries to cover it up by resorting to his 'awkward bumbling' self that we as a viewer are expected to find endearing. He's an embarrassment..
