Has anyone noticed, he started with the mental abuse and now its become actual physical abuse?

He rugby tackled Marnie, supposedly in a jokey way, (ha ha ha how UN funny) but it was allowed to get away with it with just a warning. In past years he'd have been out for that.

Then we move on : Now he has potentially damaged someones eyesight by squirting water directly into it. Anyone who's ever had a air-puff test at the opticians knows how unpleasant that is, but to have the full force of that water going into her eye, and her lens pushed to the back as a result of a 'silly prank' is physical assault.
It's NOT a joke when someone is HURT.

He's escalating and BB do nothing.

If I were Sam I'd sue him and I'd sue BB for not getting him out on the spot. They have a legal obligation {H&S at work} to keep their empolyees safe.
They are derelict in their duty.

Don't be overdramatic

The rugby tackle is a rugby tackle, I have rugby tackled my female friend, and was all fun and games, she didn't go off on one like the sensitive souls on here.

The water thing doesn't seem deliberate in causing harm. It's water. It's the same thing when I squirt people in the face, I don't expect water to do damage.

I don't like Bear, but to my recollection, he has never even raised his voice, never mind got physical.

I'm not saying he's violent, I'm saying his little 'jokes' have gone from verbal abuse, disruption etc, to PHYSICALLY touching and possibly, and actually [in Sams' case] harming people.

Whether you like it or not it's an 'escalation' in real terms.

Fact

You forget he was physical with James .
I think he did go into a bit of a lull but seems now to be coming back strong and possibly circumstances are determining that his antagonism takes a more physical form rather than a psychological one.
Personally im glad hes not relenting - no surrender = more fun and more drama

Anyone who saw him arguing with Aubrey in the LF knows he's not about to escalate and start assaulting people. Aubrey was yelling all up in his face and Bear was actually backing away, hands in the air. He barely even raises his voice, let alone his fists.

I say they eye thing is an actionable by Sam. Even if it's a joke [to him] it may actually be battery, [if not assault]. I'm not a legal expert but I do know about visual impairment and he could easily have done her damage and DID do on a temporary basis.

My point is Bear is getting worse. Nothing anyone does or says can change this.

Unless we are shown the incident with the eye, which we won't be as it happened the day before yesterday, then we really don't know if it was as serious as Sam says - I do think she's prone to exaggeration - or not to be honest.

IF she did ask if it was a prank or a proper magic trick - and she suggested this - and he said he was genuine and it wasn't a prank, then that's one thing I think. If she didn't and it's just a prank that went wrong and it wasn't as serious as the implied, then that's another.

We really can't see the context unless we see the footage, we can't know what WAS said before and what happened after unless we see it, so it's really very hard to gauge where there was malicious intent or just another of Bear's pranks that went wrong with the intent of physically hurting her.

I'm inclined to believe, much as I dislike Bear, that he wasn't intending to actually hurt anybody, he doesn't look beyond what he's doing at that particular time and - to be honest - I feel that Sam, as a grown woman who obviously has lived with Bear for several weeks, should have known better than to be drawn into it if it involved putting something near her eye.

That's not to say he should have done it, but if she didn't say 'look, if this is a prank and something goes in my eye, I wear contacts and could damage the eye and the contacts' and she willingly put something near her eye knowing that nothing Bear ever does is genuine or harmless, then perhaps she really should have known better (as she said herself).

If she knew what he was like, took part anyway, I think there should be an element of an adult taking responsibility for themselves (including Bear of course), of knowing you put yourself in that situation, knowing who you're involved with in that situation, knowing all they've done over the previous 3 or so weeks and perhaps using your noddle!

We don't, however, know how or what went down so we really are all just speculating.

He just has this need to dominate, especially women. His words no longer have any effect so holding someone down, water or pie in the face and stealing their property are the only tactics left to him. I notice he uses other less harmful ways of domination....standing or sitting on the zebra when they are seated, deciding what activities are acceptable, deciding when they're allowed to sleep and dominating the mood of the house.

Completely agree. Especially your first paragraph, Sam is so over the top. She's deluded as we saw in the house and in the interview. She even denied saying "Our Sam" on BOTS when it was clearly said, so she's also either a liar or very forgetful, so i think she is certainly prone to being melodramatic.

I just said on another thread that I think Sam's bigging-up of herself was as much for her as it was for those listening/viewing. I think it was almost like a pep talk to herself - you are worthy, you are successful, you deserve to be here, that sort of thing. Almost like a mantra.

We are just speculating yes, and I would add that:

a) he himself knew it wasn't a real magic trick.
b) she asked and he lied
c) whatever his motivation was he disregarded and took an uncalculated risk her health and her welfare.
d) he's a knob :P
