I think if I were stuck in there with Bear I'd need some vallies to get through the day/night.

They are dished out like sweets, I've got a hypersensitivity to them so I can't take them.

When I lived in the USA they used to call it the housewife's drug of choice - it gets them through the day

That was in the 80's though. Valium intake is heavily controlled, they even changed the name of it in the UK to diazepam.

If they are taking it, it would be on prescription only and obviously that would entail medical approval.

Perhaps he didn't quite say they were taking it or made some flippant remark? I didn't hear anything personally and I did watch Live Feed last night.

ETA: If I recall correctly, doesn't BB dole out any medication they are prescribed, doesn't allow it to be kept in the house but it has to be given to them at the prescribed times from the DR?

Aubrey is definitely on them. When Bear and Heavy had the row in the bedroom she made a comment about not getting involved or not remembering it in detail as she had already taken her Valium. I was surprised they'd left it in the highlights show as she was quite open about it.

I take it when my back goes - it relaxes the muscles so that the painkillers can work. It's only a relaxant, just fairly strong

It's also used to treat anxiety disorders (OCD, panic disorders) and symptoms of alcohol withdrawal.

If she's taking them, no doubt her doctor thinks she needs them for whatever reason she's on them. I know they used to be easy to get hold of, I'm not sure if that's still the case.

Bloody hell, we are talking about Diazepam not Cocaine! I take it, many people take it for many reasons - backpain, muscle strain, all sorts. It's a medication.

They have private doctors on site who have quite clearly dished out all sorts of stuff for years now (it's been talked about by HMs both on and off camera, on HLs, on LF, in exit interviews, even spotted on camera I believe). The UK is the same as the US - get a private doctor - or the right 'kind' of private doctor, and they'll give you what you 'need' to see you through.

The Beatles wrote a song about it in the 60s FFS (Dr Robert) - it's nothing new!

It's not a barbiturate and it's the same situation here if you have the 'right' private doctor.

I can very much believe some of them were on it prior to going into the house but on it just for the house? No way.”

Nope it's still widely known here in the UK as Valium, the same as people call vacuum cleaners 'hoovers'. Hence Ryan saying something about taking ten 'vallies' or whatever in his exit interview that Emma panicked about in the BB just gone.

You're naive in the extreme if you think that the House doctor won't prescribe them sleeping tablets for chronic sleeping problems, or valium for anxiety or panic attacks imo.

I'm sure it's the same for sleeping tablets .

BB would be in big trouble if they dished out both to any HM .”

Of course the show has a doctor able to give prescriptions, always has had

I bet a few of them over the years have been on blood pressure tablets, some are old enough to be on statins, I can't imagine there hasn't been a female taking the pill in there, or a female who takes Levothyroxine. Who is the American former model who was on a year or so back - she had a bag full of meds if I recall correctly. Lauren Harries is transgender and would be taking hormones for the rest of her life.

Most people take something every day, even if it's a vitamin tablet. It's a world of pill poppers these days

ETA: James was even diagnosed as asthmatic whilst on this particular series and started using an inhaler!

That certainly explains BB4.

Suspected during last civil BB that they were feeding marco valium like smarties when he got a little OTT. His mood changes were insane.
