Last Christmas?

How can anyone possibly not know that song - jeesh, it's totally inescapable on an annual basis.

It might just be me but there's a few times now that she's sounded unnecessarily angry. Who the f@#$ is George Michaelllllll!? Stupid and angry. Are all the scripted reality folk like that I wonder? Is it a criteria perhaps?

I'm not and have never been a fan of his music but my 9 year old loves music so searches for all sorts of different stuff. If she hears a song she likes on tv or on radio, she asks me who it is and then does a search on youtube.

I've also got a 22 year old sister and her and her friends are very familiar with 80's music as the whole retro cheesy music thing has always been big amongst students.

I am sure a lot of young people know the song but when some are asked the name i can imagine a lot forgetting who sang it....

The only Wham/George Michael song a lot of 24 year olds know is Last Christmas, which was a Wham song, not GM.

There is a lot of his songs of his that some young people will have heard of but i am sure a good amount of them are not talking about him or can readly remember his name unless their parents consently talk about him.

I am sure some may only rememeber who he is if you tell them "its the main bloke from Wham".

It's not like George Micheal is talked about on lots of young peoples platforms anymore...

Yep. Its easier than ever for anyone to seek out music of all genres from any era and surely its the done thing for young people to seek out old music. Certainly when I was in my teens, I made myself very familiar with music from before my time.

I can see in a "general pop Knowledge" kind of way knowing about a group called Wham, i just don't think the name George Micheal is a name that is mentioned "lots" in the world of young kids.

But i see you are mixing lacking "pop" knowledge with a kids basic lack of education or how "thick" they are. I mean they are not teaching kids about George Micheal in schools? and they are not talking about him on teen programs or radio shows.....

Some people don't even know who Michael Jackson or Elvis is . Which I find disturbing lol.

I don't have a single Wham or George Michael CD in my house yet all my kids. 27, 25, 23 and 17 know who he is.

I cannot speak for her but i know that a fair few of people around the age of 20 have no reason to have his name lodged in there head unless their parents or elders talk about him a lot.
