I find the American version dull and irritating. I just prefer the British version it's 'realer' if you get me. I'm basing that opinion on every season except for this one, the Bear favoritism this season was ridic.

that's fair i do agree the show seems a little one sided this year, which in turn makes it hard for the other housemates who have been (atleast i assume) working to keep the audience entertained and have not been given any such special treatment..

In regards to the US, having seen how watered down our version is over here, the US counterpart seems to still have some interesting not so contrived incidents, ie genuinely racist housemates or outrage over a housemate who placed his *cough* balls *cough* on another housemates face while she slept.. i don't know i just hate how every big brother from the US, to the african version to even the indian version all find ways to give 24/7 live feed and we get stuck with this soundbite/click baity type of drivel.

Did they ever explain why they stopped the live feed 24/7? BBUSA has live feed online 24/7 except during competitions and ceremonies (veto, eviction, etc)....it is streamed online for a small fee. Why can't BBUK do the same thing? At least for the civilian version. Did they ever say why? They have the feed and any cost associated with it could come from charging people to watch the feed.

Not that i know of, there may be some feeble excuses but none that hold up for me, I think i may lose it if i hear Rylan bang on about how he was watching the live feed before the show started, well that's lovely for you mate but hows about you give us a link to that too.. Just doesn't make sense when you see the live feed going on in the background on bots, just spend a little on servers and give the people what we want.. I see nothing to gain from not giving us LF.

Maybe they think, if they had LF, that people won't watch the HL show and ratings would then be down and so less money from advertisers. On the US version you don't see the competitions and ceremonies online (veto, nominations, etc) so you have to watch the HL show to see that (plus the HL show is just 2-3 times a week and not every night). IDK and am just guessing. I do wish they had a LF and maybe if they didn't show the tasks then people would watch the HL show for the tasks? However the tasks really don't mean much.

possibly but personally there isn't any excuses for no live feed except possibly ch4 may have run in to legal issues with all the nudity or some of the other drunken antics (im thinking of the jungle cats/food fight night). i know I'm not alone in missing the LF we used to get on ch4, being able to just see housemates interact with each other little things that we don't get on the HL show is what made it so interesting. Knowing just how much they probably make, through views on the show/site hits and also their app there really should be a LF made available. Alas these days they seem more concerned with pandering to the geordie shore/towie type of crowd.

As it's owned by an American corp, then any US HM will be globally profiled. Don't see why Americans have to return home, as many live here in the UK, and /or have family here. Even if they go back home to the States, they'll be allied to the same media as Bear and his pals are. BBUk doesn't really exist, and any country in the world could have HMs in it. I think it's a good idea to have many nationalities in BB, don't you

Real talk.

The only person this matters for is Stevie boy, Aubrey absolutely nailed it, it feels like this whole series has been a vehicle for Mr Stephen Bear. It's always been about him.

The win probably isn't going to do much for anyone else because no one else has shows with viacom. It might help Marnie pull a few more quid per PA but that's about it really. She'll be focused on the fauxmance anyway.

bib - and yet only the Canadian and US versions have no public voting/elimination process, so they are the furthest removed from the original idea.

They are also different in other ways "Since 2001 the American version adopted a different format from the others during its second season, where the contestants are encouraged to strategise to advance in the game". https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_Brother_(franchise) All the episodes I've seen have been so much strategy talk they may as well have been playing The Crystal Maze!

To me the US version is very unlike Big Brother.

It may have gained James Whale a few more listeners, but I doubt a significant enough amount for it to make a difference to his career. He's happy doing what he does.
