Anyone else read Davison's inane ramblings about Brexit in the latest DWM? What a plonker!

What did he say??

I've just got the issue. Will have to read it in a bit.

I've been critical in the past about Baker (C)'s immature behaviour in not talking to DWM because he gets offended by polls, but maybe Davison would have been better off following his example.

Would it have been okay if he had been a Brexit triumphalist who had insulted Remainers and made offensive comments about David Cameron??

No, of course not.

Read it. He was asked questions. Gave his opinion. Shock.

I like Peter D, he's pretty straight talking about a lot of stuff in that interview! Got no problem with that, its a free Universe, and don't think he comes across as a prat at all. Good sense of humour. Entertaining read.

And calling someone "a plonker" is not offensive?

How about respecting people's own political and personal views and not calling someone a plonker just because they hold differing views to you?

Exactly. If only Davison respected other people's views instead of wanting them to jump off bridges and calling them stupid and xenophobic.

Yes, sadly, I wouldn't put that past you.

Only very mildly if at all. Have you never watched Only Fools and Horses?

Ahhhh so we have degrees of offensive?

Are you in charge of deciding what is mildly or not? Have you a published list that we can check? Or are they as I am guessing down to your own beliefs

What I have watched or not watched is not relevant.

But if we are using Only Fools and Horse as a measuring stick for offensive statements, I am sure some of the stuff Del-Boy has said to Rodney is just as bad as "wanting them to chuck themselves off a bridge"

Of course there are different degrees of offence, why are you having trouble with that concept? Yes I am in charge of meaning what is mildly or not when I myself make the comment. I doubt anyone would find the word "plonker" any more than mildly offensive at the worst and certainly it is nothing compared to what Davison said.

So PD is in charge of what of how offensive he finds a comment he makes.

I am sure he thinks the comments are mildly offensive.

You think your comments are mildly offensive, He thinks is are

Everyone is happy

Yes. Everyone hates Cameron for ruining this country.

No but we can make educated guesses.

I dare say he would think (and many people who voted remain) would find someone saying "He was being a typical Remain whinger" offensive as well.

Did you set out to be offensive or majorly offensive?

If you set out to be mildly offensive because someone disagrees with a set of views is it not logical to think he was doing the same?

Unless you have some evidence of him of him going out his way to be offensive often?

I think Tom Baker spoke about the EU referendum in his recent DWM interview (can't remember what he said though). I very much like it that DWM is asking its interviewees "big" questions about their opinions and attitudes, rather than just "what was your favourite monster?". Whether or not I agree with those opinions, it is a sign of a much more intelligent and much deeper approach to DW fandom than we always used to get. Sorry that the OP and Mr Davison disagree about this political point.

It's SO outrageous when actors, like Peter and Colin, express opinions.

Oh dear. Maybe it would help if you read previous posts before making sarcastic comments. Just a suggestion. Nobody has ever suggested that they can't express opinions.

I thought it was a fascinating and insightful interview, refreshingly honest and straightforward. - and I voted Leave!

Loved the stuff about Colin, Tom and also Ainley's wig! But equally interesting was PD's chat about his screen personality.

But he would be a prat if he was just ranting about Remain voters and basically sharing your opinion? Is he actually a prat for any other reason than believing we should stay in the EU which happens to be in contrast with your political beliefs?

There's no need to be jealous, Boz. I'm sure DWM will interview you if you ask very, very nicely.
