I wouldn't say I'm actively a Bear fan, but the definition on here lately does seem to extend to anyone who doesn't hate him so I suppose I can answer. It's definitely ''steer well clear - he's only fun from a distance'' for me. I find him to be a good contestant in the context of a reality TV show.
Although conflict isn't the only form of entertainment on BB, as some modern viewers seem to feel, I would maintain that it IS still an important component of the entertainment. I don't go along with the other extreme of BB fandom which views the show as some form of highbrow 'social experiment' where it would be equally fascinating to sit and watch the bonds form struck up by two unlikely housemates over talking about botany or jazz, as it would to see game-play, drama and intrigue.
Bear isn't a particularly Machiavellian housemate don't get me wrong (a toned down Bear crossed with a more effective Andrew Tate is probably the ideal housemate to watch, but I digress) but he does set the cat among the pigeons. He creates chaos. Is it the only way to be a good or entertaining housemate? No. But it's one way.
