It is disappointing to read this. She deserves better.

Shame really but it was a poor season and a bad song - her collab with Clean Bandit proved she can do way better and if Syco can just prolong their attention span for a little longer than a toddler and keep promoting her i think she could do alright. But then this is Syco who are a bit more into quick success as oppossed to building an artist up

I don't think i've even heard that song tbh. But her Clean Bandit collab has sold 400,000 to date, as the article states. I think she'll be alright.

Worst winners song ever

Once she is free of SYCO I think shell be fine. Just needs better material.

Not sure about that tbh. I understand that Lauren is supporting Kiera on her tour in the Autumn.

It was a sh1te song from the off, whoever gave it the green light to be the winner's song needs their head looking at. I don't think any of the finalists could've made a song people would want to buy out of it.

It was an awful single and by far the worst to date. I usually thoroughly enjoy the winners single but it did nothing for me. Her 2nd single did so much better but the real test will come when she releases her next single.

I guess she will be on one of the live shows during the series.

I think the success of Tears in terms of sales has only put off the inevitable. I do think it's funny how the song is now marketed as her single when it is basically her guest vocal on a song written and produced by another act.

How exactly will that be different from her own singles? It's not as though she will be writing and producing them.

It's simply that the writers and producers will be for hire.

clean bandit is one thing, Louisa another. The real test will be her own material

In my opinion, it is different because usually the producers and writers at least pretend they really wanted to work with the artist. Clean Bandit has more or less admitted Syco purchased a hit single for her. I am very confident that Louisa's next single will do fairly well with the obligatory X-Factor live show performance and it will be downhill afterwards. There's just very little media or public interest for her out there.

As I've posted in previous threads, I really liked Louisa on X Factor but the version of Forever Young SYCO made Louisa cover was such a boring disaster.

Maybe there might be people out there who heard Tears by Clean Bandit and didn't have a clue who Louisa was. Likewise when Rather Be was released and nobody knew much about Jess Glynne.

I agree with those saying it's the solo material that will be the real test of popularity.

Lauren was awful, so out of tune! Louisa on the other hand, she can actually sing!

Lauren may get spotted when she is supporting Kiera on her tour.

I think Lauren had more light and shade than Louisa in her voice - Lauren's tone was also less heavy and when she sang vision of love she really nailed it! Louisa has a good voice and I like her, but she has a tendency to shout a lot and her tone can become quite harsh, she looks like a star though.

Louisas winning single was an absolutely ridiculous choice. She auditioned as a cool, fashionable teen and yet they turned her into Sam Bailey Jr and gave her a single so dull that even an insomniac would fall into a coma if they heard it.
The single with Clean Bandit was far too commercial and generic for my taste but it is far more the sort of music that a 17/18 year old girl should be releasing. She needs to be aiming her music at the teenage market rather than songs too dated for the nursing home

I'm sure there's plenty. On the show she was a quiet 16 year old blonde with wavy hair who dressed in jeans and white, little angel style clothes. The girl in the video for Tears and in live performances has different hair, mature makeup and wears a leotard and thigh-high boots. She looks a completely different person even when you know who she is.

Re solo material I'm calling it now, they will be pulling out all the stops to get Zara Larsson's producers on board to try and jump on the Lush Life bandwagon.

Louisa is working with digital farm animal, haven't seen any epic records, kinda producers in her collection

Also once signed an artists image Changes along with the rest of it, they have to really go all out image wise.

I honestly really do feel bad for Louisa because I think that she has the potential to go farther than any other winner of the UK show, especially here in the United States. She's probably under a certain amount of pressure from Syco to get a decent record out by October at the latest, and an album by late fall as well.

On the upside, we can expect to see her back on the live shows, as the winner of the previous series almost always performs on the first live results show.
