Well considering they didn't qualify, I'd say United and Chelsea are categorically unlikely to win it.
And City look better than both of them anyway. Without United and Chelsea, there would be no 4 places. NorthernNinny is 100% correct. |

Leicester don't need to thank anyone then, they'd be in whatever happened in the last 20 years.

Tbf they're the last two clubs to have won it in the last ten years and have a decent history of progressing beyond the qualifiers during the same time.

There has been an agreement to ensure the top countries keep 4 spots in the Champions league although the incoming UEFA president wants to change all that.

Hopefully he gets his way, the changes are just another attempt to keep the old established clubs at the top and reward 'history'. Similar to when FFP was brought in, they even adapted them rules the other year to benefit the Milan clubs.
These big countries want an end to risky qualifying games |

Yeah and all those years of progression to the later stages have certainly helped the co-efficients too.
Funny how quickly the newbies forget that isn't it? |

City reached the CL semi final last season and Liverpool reached the Europa League final, so it's not going to happen as soon as you think.
Sounds like Codeblue is talking shite again. |

And arsenal finished second, so would have qualified either way.
Sounds like Codeblue is talking shite again. Chelsea and United along with Liverpool have all won the Champions league and have at least looked like they can compete , with Utd getting to three finals since 2008. This conversation started in response to a poster claiming that this season's champions league was better now that United and Chelsea weren't a part of it. |

What's the point of qualifying if all you're going to do is get knocked out when you get past the group stage like Arsenal do every season?

it was a stupid statement from codeblue furthermore, Tottenham have been in Europe every single season for a while now, and so have also contributed to England's coefficient. this idea that we owe a debt of gratitude to brave Man U and Chelsea for being able to participate in the CL now is complete nonsense. |

the same Man U that have failed to qualify in 2 of the last 3 seasons, as well as failing to qualify from the group stages not long ago are suddenly "likely to win it for the EPL" are they? I don't know that you can say that a team that spent most of last season in the bottom half of the table would have been likely to win it either.

Liverpool have more to crow about than Spurs do . Two Champions league finals and a Europa since 2005 plus all those semi finals against Chelsea along the way . You may as well chuck in Arsenal if you're giving Spurs credit. |

I wasn't making comparisons, I was merely refuting your rather silly point.

its not a silly point, Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool are single handedly responsible for the 4 CL places available.
If not for them, it would probably be just the winner being entered for the CL competition and with the changes happening, its possible our number of places will be cut from 4 to 3 at least. No 4th place trophy for arsenal anymore. |

This would be a fantastic result for Leicester to get a second win.
Possibly only another win from the knock out stagesb |
