are you able to tell me which offers they turned down to sell him? I'm certainly not aware of any.
so "hassle" amounts to not much more than "they changed their keeper" then... |

Özil's scored against Chelsea, Utd, Spurs, Bayern & Liverpool and assisted vs Utd, City, Spurs & Leicester but Michael Owen says he needs to start performing and scoring against big teams 🤔

Dreadful defending cost us getting anything out of that. Up until the sending off we were well in the game.
No matter who we buy or even manages us we still have the habit of making proper schoolboy errors, it's quite impressive really. |

Reminds me in a way of Sir Alex's final season, with I think the players wanting to send him out on a high, with the links and rumours being this could very well be Wengers final season there, I wonder if that is something the players are doing for him? |

Pre-Celtic all the talk was about how many points City would win the prem by and could this be their year in the CL. Now they're playing as if they'll be lucky to get top four.
They were still in it until Bravo's brainfart but he's there directly because of Pep - just as Ageuro was benched. Finger of blame must be pointed at the manager for this one...... |

Mustafi and Xhaka have made an impact too, before if Coquelin pick up a knock Arteta and Flamini were relied on, now there's the option of Elneny and Xhaka who are more mobile. I just hope Wenger doesn't start tinkering around with something that's working unless there's a reason to by forcing his favourites Giroud, Ramsey and Mertesacker back in the 1st eleven. |

I hope for Arsene's sake it turns out differently but i can't see it. Last weekends home 3-2 win of swansea was very much typical 'normal' arsenal and they were luck swansea missed that 90th minute sitter |

Whereas it just reminds me of arsenal every season. Looks like they'll have to lose at home to PSG (which is highly probable seeing they scraped a 1-0 win over there even thought they were played off the park) to finish 2nd again and get drawn a huge team in last 16.

The United players only knew Fergie was going shortly before it went public.

The players didn't know Fergie was retiring until the last two matches of the season, well after we'd won the league, so if the Arsenal players were trying extra because he was going (which I doubt) it wouldn't be like Fergie's last season at all.

16 goals in 15 games against (the best) English teams for Messi, and still people doubt whether he would be able to perform in the Premier League.
Great player obviously, but it still tickles me that he's faced Chelsea 8 times and never managed a single goal, when he seems to score so freely against everyone else. |

About that stat, is that in his most recent 15 games because he must have played English teams more than that overall?

I don't think anything Arsenal are doing is because of any sentimentality or carriage clock sendoff at all, it's Arsenal doing Arsenal as alfamale says. Strong start, faltering finish is their MO, the mirror version of Sunderland.

Hence the saying should be 'I bet he can't do it on a wet Monday night at Stamford Bridge' because we know he can't

Granted Chelsea have kept him and Barca at bay on numerous occasions, there was however the one performance by Messi at Stamford Bridge where he was quite influential, a man of the match performance you can say, he gave Del Horno a torrid time in 2006, so he actually has done it on a 'wet night at Stamford Bridge'.
As good a side as Barca are, I don't quite get why other English clubs generally have such poor records against them, not just losing but quite often being on the receiving end of a drubbing. Even when Chelsea have been beaten by them (only twice in 10 games in the Abramovich era) it's only ever been by a one goal margin, and both times we were reduced to 10 men. |

![]() They'll be OK until they face one of the top 8 sides - still think they lack a midfield that can stop the better sides playing. |

The hindsight brigade out in force with regards to Aguero not starting yesterday.
He may be good but he wouldn't have stopped the individual errors City liberally scattered across the pitch last night. Pep went for a false 9 to get bodies in midfield and stop Barcelona dominating - which actually worked really well in the first half. If Aguero had started, it may have increased their chances of scoring but possession and chances would've been fewer - probably would have ended 6-2 instead. |

Arsenal are looking very good at the present time, no doubt about that, Sanchez's goal last night was a delightful effort.
They seem to have more depth to their squad than in previous years as well, so that could be to their advantage in the long run. Walcott looks a changed player, perhaps the pieces are finally beging to come together for him, if so, then he could become a very dangerous player for opposition teams on a far more regular basis. |

It did look like they had a gameplan from the off, but when they did create chances, there was no one to really put them away. De Bruyne is wonderful, fantastic player, but a goalscorer he is not, so playing him as the furthest forward player, and hoping that he could nick a goal, was I think an error. If you are going to play like that, then you might as well just play Aguero, as he is far more likely to nick a goal, then De Bruyne. |
