A chance that we could see an all Manchester Europa League final.

So all English teams should make it into the first knock out stage, that hasn't happened in the past couple of seasons.
Leicester won't go through

Maybe I'm being too blonde but why are City going to be in the Europa league come the end of the campaign?

They won't. Guardiola will get them out the group no problem. This guy has never failed to reach a semi final let alone fail to get out the group.

Leicester's group on paper doesn't look that bad but this is new territory. It won't be easy.

man city do coninue to get tough draws in this competition. This's pretty much every season they've had one of the hardest groups.

Must admit I'm not seeing the hugely difficult draw for City that a lot of other posters seem to be. Barcelona speaks for itself obviously, but they beat Monchengladbach home and away last season and Celtic are dreadful.

Yep, I just think if you've got a German team plus Barca, they could have hoped for somethign nicer...

Oh aye, could have been a lot better for them! Just that they've qualified from significantly harder groups in the past.

Think Leicester fans must be slightly dissapointed with their group.

It's the champions league but no standout tie.

Porto will win the group but I suppose Leicester can be competitive in the group but can't see them qualifying due the inexperience at this level

Celtic are dreadful but they traditional raise their game in a European tie against an English team

They have more chance than City. Primarily because City won't find themselves in the Europa League at all.

Agreed. City should breeze through that group.

Agree with this. A few glamour ties and an exit would have been preferable.
Hope they make it through though.

Don't get your hopes up. It's very unlikely City will end up in the Europa League and Mourinho thinks the competition is beneath him now so I'd be surprised if he puts out his best team in it.

Of course. I thought it was a silly post so I gave him a silly answer.

Whilst it's not the toughest group we've had its still the toughest out of the English teams, again.

God knows how Spurs managed to get such an easy group for Pot 3.

To be fair there's that many permutations and who can't draw who with being same countries and TV deals that the options are severely limited compared to what you'd probably expect from a draw.

I think it will be between them and the Germans for second place, I fully expect Barca to top the group, so it will come down to the results between them and City, as Celtic will try and there will be a great atmosphere at Parkhead, but they will get beat by both City and the Germans.

So they could enter the Europa League, that is not out the question totally.

I was slightly being sarcastic, and jovial in nature with what I said, as we obviously don't know our group just yet.

There's a fair few of the more regular participants missing this year who'd be probably be seeded pretty highly - United, Chelsea, Roma, Valencia, Zenit, Schalke etc - which has maybe had the knock-on effect of promoting teams into higher ranked pots than they'd normally be in.

Which if I have read the rules correctly for the following season, will be rectified (from the big clubs perspective at least), as the big four leagues will get four teams in the group stages.

I'm not so sure, Copenhagen, Brugges and Porto are all fun and easy cities to get to for the Leicester fans with no long treks to eastern Europe. They may have missed the big boys - but that was almost inevitable due to their ludicrous seeding - but I'm sure they will have a great time on their travels.
