Well, look at it this way - the fee is agreed before they even enter the house, they aren't obliged to do or say anything to 'earn' it, they earn it by appearing. If BB is happy to pay housemates a large amount of money but also happy not to show them and edit out all they do, that's BB's bad money management and the producers' stupidity.

I do agree it works in his favour, but purely because of the "he's the only one who's earnt his fee" attitude. Comparatively he seems like a bargain to many viewers.
