Oh they got my tweet on there!

What a bizarre LF that was. No wonder we're not allowed it any more. I know we say it in jest about the HMs reading scripts and BB drip feeding directions, but I never expected it to be that blatant! I don't even think Bear was joking now when he said he worked for BB during the BOTS from the house.

They filmed all the segments for the Finale HLs during that LF. Randomly called the HMs back to the sofas just to congratulate them. Did one song to make it look like they'd partied all night. Got them all for the group DR reflections and most strange of all sent them to bed to film the goodnight HMs piece and the lights came back on and it was as you were!

Meanwhile the HMs spent most of the time moaning about having to do more work and putting all the pay check talk into a more intriguing context.

Can't wait to see how they all spin this!

Honestly: if I thought they were screwing with the basic principles of the show I wouldn't have played along. #CBB

Well they did screw with the basic principles of the show when they portrayed Chris as some kind of creepy pervert.
Of course they screw with the basic principles of the show. They have done since the early series. Probably from the very first one.

Judging by the amount of ex HMs defending what happened, tomorrow C5 will just respond saying "The show is not scripted, we do only shoot the final goodbye earlier on due to not everyone being in bed at the same time"

I'd like to see at least one person tell them that they're not making the claim that housemates are literally provided with a physical paper script to learn and rehearse.
That's what they usually bring up as a lazy strawman.

Of course everyone knows Big Brother told them to sit there. OMG that must mean EVERYTHING is scripted!!!!

I remember as a child I went to watch Gladiators live. Remember that show? Belter it was. The first thing they did was get the contestants out and film the "Pyramid" game. This was because it was the biggest set, and they did that first. Then after that, when we'd already seen them all in action, they then filmed the "Hello everyone and welcome to Gladiators! Let's meet our contestants!" It was filmed like that just for a bit of ease, to make the show look smoother. That's all they've done.

The last show on Big Brother is always a bit of a "feel good" show, celebrating the end of the series. So they'll film a bit of this just to add on there. It's only on for about 5-10 mins anyway because they have six housemates to interview.

This is such a classic example of this forum over reacting to things as always.

If there were so many scenes set up like that...we really would have had lots of confirmation of it by now rather than tin-foil hat wearing forum members saying "I can just tell it is".

It's a Channel 5 entertainment program. Stop taking it so seriously, relax, enjoy it for what it is and have yourselves some beans on toast with a heart cut out of the middle.

It's very rare now that this "discussion forum" has any discussion on it. It's just people having an overblown rant about something that doesn't really matter that much (in the last couple of days we've had cries of "physical abuse to a woman" because Bear SQUIRTED WATER at Sam, and the usual "vile" descriptions of everyone) and so many cries of "Big Brother is ruined now, it's a joke, it's not what it used to be, I won't be watching again, it's dead, it's dying, it should be pulled off the air etc etc etc".

Tell you what...here's an idea.....if you hate it that much, STOP WATCHING, focus your attention on something positive, and let the people who enjoy watching it talk about it, without having to sift through dramatic over-reactions and the most ridiculous hyperbole. I've genuinely never seen anything so ridiculous!”

Three cheers for you.

Actually Salv was losing his shit just like everyone else. Stop pretending you're better than anyone else.

This is still a big deal even if it's just the one scene. It adds doubt to what else they have tampered with.

I didn't say I hated it. If commenting on what has transpired means I hate the show then how much of an evangelist do I need to be to watch the show?
It may be a strange notion for you to comprehend, but some of us like to watch the show for all sorts of reasons. We're not all fanboys or fangirls of housemates. Certainly not nowadays anyway. Sometimes speaking about the mechanics of the show itself can be more interesting and rewarding than talking about housemates.

This show sets itself up to be taken seriously as a reality show. When it fails to do that then it deserves to be mocked by viewers.

People saying "It's no big deal. It's only one scene" but if they can get all the HMs together for this one scene and make it work then what's stopping them doing it for other scenes? It really makes you question those times when something felt off and you just couldn't put your finger on it.

Hmmmmm... I'm not really sure how I feel about this.

On one hand it does make me feel a bit fishy about the whole thing. Is this the only ocassion this sort of thing is happening? Plus of course showing it all play out was only going to cause a negative backlash.

I also don't really understad the point of it all. Like if every final has to have this staged formulaic little highlights segment why bother showing it at all? The speeches round the table or in the diary room has always been a thing but why try and make it all seem sweet and great on the last night when it isn't? Why not just show us 5-10 minutes of what actually happened? It just all seems very pointless to me

On the other hand, if this is the only real ocassion where this happens I don't really mind persay. As pointless as it all seems as long as they're not scripting or re-enacting these disingenuous plastic conversations or reshooting drama then I don't think they're overstepped the mark.

I was in the WHATM thread and Salv was not losing his/her shit. They just expressed surprise, like anybody else in the thread. In fact there was little anger or outrage, more surprise, mockery and one or two expressions of disgruntlement. Nobody lost their shit, as you say. But any criticism is entirely valid in my opinion. Why shouldn't it be?
