What is your favourite episode of one of the soaps?

Feel free to post a link to share with others and give a brief explanation as to why you enjoyed this episode.

I'll start with this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m6vo...ature=youtu.be
Written by Daran Little.

It was the beginning of the end of one of this soaps most famous and popular storylines ending the love triangle. Lots of drama, some great acting and nice choices of music too.

(The full week which contained this episode is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nB_d...ature=youtu.be )

What do you think of my choice?

Over to you guys...

The Emmerdale Seige and the Aftermath were my favourites.

A lot of characters involved including Debbie, Cameron, Charity and Chas

Loved the scene where Cain returns to be filled in on whats been happening and both he and Charity realise what has been going on between Cameron and Chas and as they both make their escape Cain and Charity try to drag them out of the car.

Kat's episode at the nunnery will never leave my mind because of stunning the writing and the acting was. It's main flaw was it wasn't a two hander.

Mine was Episode 7415 of Emmerdale when Chas & Aaron went for a day out to the beach, and when they got back he told her that his dad raped him. Heartbreaking episode.

I'm sure there have been loads of great ones, but I'm going to go for the episode of ED where Cameron ran Gennie off the road and killed her.

So, so dark, so shocking, and absolutely spine-tinglingly horrific.

Forgot about that, one of my favourites too. Very disturbing episode but great drama, especially the car chase part.

Hooked me back into watching ED regularly as well. It was that good.

Alfie's struggle to find a condom so he and Kat could have sex for the first time. Hysterical.

Danielle's death in EastEnders never leaves my mind. Watching her wanting to tell Ronnie she was her daughter for months, only for it to end so bitterly was horrifying!

There were some great episodes from Christmas Day 2009 when Archie was murdered to the shows original LIVE episode. The Christmas episode itself stands out as being one of the best episodes in EastEnders' history. Far better than Stax, in my opinion.

There were also a lot of great episodes throughout the killer Cameron storyline in Emmerdale. Gennie's death and the siege were both very dark, but made gripping TV.

I also really enjoyed the episode of Coronation Street where Roy and Hayley danced to Close To You in Blackpool. So authentic and touching. That was the last time Corrie was any good really.

I love the episode where Paddy finds out Aaron is gay on Emmerdale, never seen anything like that on tv before or since.

Kylie's death on Corrie another great one.

I loved the trading places episode of One Life to Live where the actor's were playing their character's nemesis, also Asa's funeral where he faked his death and all his 6 of his living ex wives showed up to his funeral.

On All my Children when Erica was high on pain killers and told off the entire town in her woman of the year speech and also the episode where the tornado hit Pine Valley.

Ordinarily I wouldn't be able to tell one episode apart from another, but the one that sticks out in my mind is the episode of Emmerdale where Declan returns (seemingly from the dead) to see Megan after Robbie's funeral.

It was half heartbreaking and half brilliant - as probably the only person on the Daily thread who loved both Declan and Megan during the Charity/abortion/cabin storyline, I felt so vindicated! Megan forgave her brother for everything that had happened, and he got away to hopefully start a happier life somewhere else.

It was the best ending I could hope for after poor Robbie died. Oh, the days when I used to love Megan...

There's been quite a few in Emmerdale I really like, but my favourite soap episode ever is the Eastenders one where Peggy outs Pat and Frank's affair to a packed pub then belts them both one.

Dunno about favourite episode but one Coronation street episode that really sticks in my head is Lilys christening from 2013

Kylie had discovered David knew about her and Nick, and realised he was pure evil, it was him who put Nick in a coma and him who started the hate campaign. Then when everyone was forgiving evil (I'm not religious at all btw) Kylie freaked out and outed David's evilness to the whole Platt family and everyone turned on David. Great acting from everyone

In the same episode Roy and Hayley went to Blackpool

I will always love the episode where Liam & Maria sorted out their differences after the stillbirth/funeral dramas & Liam told Carla what he'd decided!! Very satisfying for me, plus there was some superb acting by all three characters!!

Loved all the week of episodes based on one night leading up to Liam's murder, where they kept swapping between Carla's hen night & Tony's stag do & the drama going on between Liam & Carla, again great acting from Rob Collier & Alison King, then the utterly heartbreaking scenes with Liam & Maria when she discovered he'd been killed just as she was about to tell him they were going to have another baby, with brilliant heart rending acting from Samia this time!!

For me those scenes will probably never be bettered but I did feel similarly emotionally drained following the scenes with Kylie's death & David the other week, again due to fantastic acting!!

Edit: I would dearly love to have the option of providing links to those 2008 episodes but sadly the whole of the 00s has now disappeared from YouTube!!
WHY FFS? WHY? WHY? WHY?

I am glad someone else has chose this. It wasn't intended to be a huge episode I don't think, but it was still a 'big' episode of that makes sense? I just thought it was so gripping. The writing was faultless when it came to Roy and Hayley that episode. The christening and Liz's return were other storylines going on that week, and I just think it was a real interesting combination. I remember this was also the same week as the Emmerdale seige

FAVE EASTENDERS
no doubt in my mind - Michael proposing to Janine up the Gherkin. You must have heard my scream from the other side of the North Sea when it was aired. I'm obsessed with the Gherkin, and I have run out of places to photograph it from. London Eye, Thames below Tower Bridge at low tide, Emirates Cable Cars, Parliament Hill & Primrose Hill, old railway bridge up Muswell HIll ... to name a few places. In fact I have photos of it I could no longer do, because of all the tall new buildings that have shot up around it. Oh yes, top of Heron Tower - at day and at night. And from the Sky Garden at the Walkie Talkie. Nearly forgot - one time, had actually planned not to photograph it - but went to Canary Wharf Tube (station) instead - also Norman Foster (architect) - and then the river bus back to the poppies at the Tower, I get up from the tube at the "norman foster" station - walk over to the river bus - and what's right ahead of me up the river: The Gherkin ...

I presume that's when Sharon finds out about Den and Michelle?

My favourite is the Den/Sharon episode when he returns from the dead. Such a great episode.

Corrie: Personal favourites are Richard driving into the canal, the Barlow AA meeting, Jack Duckworth's death and Lewis Archer's 2nd exit.

EastEnders: Kat/Zoe 2 hander, Who shot Phil reveal, Chrissie murders Den, Stacey centric bipolar episode and The Beales find out Lucy's dead.

Emmerdale: Butch dies, Louise kills Ray, Shelley Williams' real death, Sadie & Cain kidnap Tom, Len's death and the Woolpack siege.
