I have my own thoughts but want to know yours, and I don't want to lead you to support an answer one way or the other.

A fair response. She said she's had 4 weeks of peace, so she wants more peace and quiet.

Personally I'm glad to give him back to her. But does he live at home?

It was obviously a joke but ill timed and not what he needed to hear. If reports are true and he does crave his parents approval, that probably hurt a bit.

Probably, he mentioned how he keeps his room tidy.
His twitter has various pics of him in a house which I doubt he could afford.

I don't know how she had the nerve to show her face, after how she brought that kid up! She don't know the first thing about being a parent!! All I can say is thank gawd I never had kids, cos I would have drowned him at birth!!!

I think OP means why did she say "another two weeks", have they not been in their a month?

Maybe Bear's mum has done her best to teach him right from wrong, manners, and how to behave. I have to say, she seemed (for the short time I saw her) to be a really nice person. Who knows?
