The guy who used to do the Sweatybox segment

Ian Symes ‏@ianiansymes 17m17 minutes ago

Well, this is it. After seven long, tiring but extremely happy years on BB, it's time for my final final. Blates gonna cry tonight.

I remember him, a dour, dimwitted man, apparently he was the brains behind the show

I remember one time on BOTS he was on the Sweatybox segment and took it a little bit too literally - had food stains on his clothes and sweat patches under his armpits. He was live on Channel 5 looking like that. Good grief.

Good riddance, and thank god we were spared his ugly mug by some bright spark (there clearly aren't many at BB circus headquarters) shoving him back behind the camera where he belongs.

His scruffy little fingertips must be worn out from deleting all of the Facebook comments.

Any geek with the mind of a child (that will be all of them then) need shunting from the production team immediately.

You won't be missed Iain and please take your geeky little friends with you.

Blimey talk about a sinking ship!

'Blates'?!! - obviously the time with Rylan has been well spent

I'd love to know how these people land a job at BB, you never see anything advertised
There were three internships for BB advertised on the main Digital Spy page near the start of BB. Requirements were something like: knowledge of media, social media and a highly creative mind able to come up with original ideas

Blimey. It did indeed always look sweaty in that box under the studio lights, but he seemed like a nice enough chap to me. At least back then there were bits from the viewers on BOTS (they also took phonecalls - imagine that!).

I'm sure it was absolutely part of his job to delete all the negative stuff and he wouldn't have lasted long if he hadn't followed orders. I wouldn't do it myself but people do far less moral things for a living, alas.

Agreed about the production team as a whole though

Wow, what a deeply unpleasant thread we have here.

Symes always came across as a good guy on BOTS I thought - maybe not best suited to an onscreen role, but certainly someone who cared.

What he's done to deserve some of the despicable comments in here, I really don't know.

Eww. Feel like I need a shower after that. Is it something personal or are you just mean and spiteful?

Oh, lighten up!

He was scruffy on screen and I'm not the only person to point that out.

It's the likes of him his motley crew and their silly little ideas who have attracted the wrong audience and sent the show whirling down the toilet.

A more mature approach is what this show desperately needs both in production and social media platforms.

Gunge or custard pie anyone?

I think you're overreacting slightly.

I have absolutely nothing against anyone, I just hate the mentality of the production team behind the show and I'm clearly not alone.

He was an OK guy until BOTS tried to build him up with those deeply unfunny filler sections. The 2 old dears are even worse.

Maybe he's being ditched because he doesn't agree with the new direction.

I think (not sure) we're on the same page but that post was pretty vicious. Moving on though.....
