Coronation Street: Will there be a Michelle/Leanne baby switch?
On US soaps when you have two women pregnant at the same time you can bet there will be a baby switch, so I'm wondering if Corrie could be planing to do one with Michelle and Leanne. Could Michelle's baby die and Steve switch it with Leanne's to keep his wife happy? Maybe the hospital switches the babies up similar to the Arthur/Daniel story on Emmerdale. Does anyone else see the dual pregnancies ending with a baby switch?

No thanks. That wouldn't do Steve anymore favours, how could he live in the same street as someone he allowed to believe their child died? He is a bit of a spineless prat, but that is taking it too far.

Hasn't Michelle already had a baby swap storyline? Would they do it twice to the same character?

I think one will miscarry to be honest. Can't see it all going smoothly with the two pregnancies.

One will clearly miscarry and in any event, Michelle had her first son swapped at birth which they just seem to have forgotten about. It's worthy of a WhatCulture style "Things Coronation Street want you to forget about Michelle Connor" video.

I bloody hope not!!
Can't honestly see them doing a miscarriage with Michelle either as it would be a little too close for comfort to her real life tragedy losing the premature baby!! My guess is the 'comedy' of having both give birth at the same time & Steve having to try & be in two places at once!! |

If both babies do survive I think Nick will adopt Leanne's kid and raise them as his own and everyone will agree to keep the kid's paternity a secret. Then maybe when the kid is Amy or Simon's age they will learn that Steve is their dad causing some big drama. |

One will probably be born either prematurely or over Christmas/New Year (Leanne's).
Just for a change in soaps. |

After the bollocking with EE's storyline, i can't see this type of thing happening again in the UK
The US are much more open minded to this sort of thing. Something similar is currently happening on The Young and The Restless. |

Chekhov's gun ... if a gun is shown in act one, someone will be shot before the end of act 3.
So ..... Wasn't there a scene were Amy had chickenpox and Leanne took Simon to a party at her house? I wonder what the significance of that scene was. |

I don't want Steve to have ANOTHER child, nevermind with Leanne AND Michelle.
If both women are to have their children, I'd like a surprise reveal down the line that Michelle's baby isn't Steve's and he throws her out. Cue storyline of Michelle struggling and losing everything. |

Cue storyline of Michelle struggling and losing everything. Even if the pair have their child, Michelle will be back behind the bar folding arms every episode or hanging around with Maria moaning about being taken advantage of, and Leanne will be complaining about her love life and the Bistro whilst having a face like a slapped arse. Neither will be seen with their children much. |

I don't want anyone to have children in the show. It serves no purpose but to create some drama for a couple of weeks, before the child is then forgotten and packed off to a never-seen best friends house or an invisible babysitter.
