Welcome to the opening ties of the European Qualifying stages for the World Cup 2018. Match Day 1 consists of 27 fixtures spread over three days. We have 27 players who have submitted their predictions ahead of the opening kick-offs.
We start with five matches today at 5pm: Group C San Marino v Azerbaijan We have 1 player going for a draw, whilst the other 26 players have gone for Azerbaijan to win. 10 players have gone for Azerbaijan to win 2-0, whilst both the 1-0 and 3-0 wins have been chosen by four players. The only player going for San Marino to get a point has gone for a goalless draw. There are 7 players going for an uber-max prediction here: both the 4-0 and 5-0 Azerbaijan wins have been selected three times, whilst one player has gone for 3-1. Group E Denmark v Armenia This is the first cleansweep, with all 27 players going for a home win. The 2-0 Denmark win is the most popular prediction here as 14 players have gone for that. Both the 2-1 and 3-0 wins have been picked four times each, whilst the 1-0 win has been chosen three times. Two players have gone for an uber-max prediction and they have both tipped Denmark for a 3-1 win. Kazakhstan v Poland This is another match where we have all gone for the same outcome – this time a Poland win. Both the 2-0 and 3-0 Poland wins have been chosen by 8 players, whilst four players have gone for a 1-0 win and one player for a 2-1 win. Three of the 6 uber-max predictions are for a 4-0 Poland win, with two players going for 3-1 and one player has gone for a 6-0 win. Group F Lithuania v Slovenia 8 players have gone for a draw and 19 players have gone for a Slovenia win. We have 12 players going for a 1-0 Slovenia win, four for 2-1, two for 2-0 and one player has gone for them to win 3-0. 6 of the players going for a draw have gone for it to finish 1-1 and the other two have gone for 0-0. There are no ubers predicted for this match. Slovakia v England 25 of us have gone for an England win and two players have gone for a draw. 10 players have gone for a 1-0 England win, 8 have gone for 2-1 and five for 2-0. The only players going for a draw have both gone for it to finish 1-1. Both of the players going for an uber-max have backed England to win 3-1. |

Darren Lethem, DimbleBurbleby, neilwatson and Partyanimal went for Azerbaijan to win 1-0 in San Marino. All bar one of the other players score 2 points from the away win.
charlieparr, Cissy Fairfax and Terrence Chant each went for Denmark to beat Armenia 1-0. Everyone else scored 2 points from this match. No-on went for Kazakhstan to get anything against Poland - so coming back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 becomes the first match of this tournament to see us all fail to score any points. A late equaliser saw Cissy Fairfax, Cuishla, davethecue, digiremote, Realale, taurus_67, tso and uls2000 all score 2 points from the 2-2 draw between Lithuania and Slovenia. No-one got the uber-max spot on. charlieparr, Cissy Fairfax, digiremote, DimSum, dyer24, Partyanimal, Terrence Chant, tonypennys, Trmcg5 and uls2000 all went for England to beat Slovakia 1-0. 16 other players went for the away win. Only two players went for a draw between Slovakia and England - DimbleBurbleby and Thebenster. I hate cowpat goals !!The top scores after the opening five matches are: Cissy Fairfax 14 charlieparr 12 Partyanimal 12 Terrence Chant 12 digiremote 11 uls2000 11 Darren Lethem 9 DimSum 9 dyer24 9 neilwatson 9 tonypennys 9 Trmcg5 9 Cuishla 8 davethecue 8 Realale 8 taurus_67 8 tso 8 charlieparr, Cissy Fairfax, Partyanimal and Terrence Chant each have 2 exacts from the opening kick-offs Cissy Fairfax, Cuishla, davethecue, digiremote, Realale, taurus_67, tso and uls2000 all gained points from 4 of the five games |

There are also four matches kicking-off at 7:45
Group C Czech Republic v Northern Ireland 20 players have gone for a home win here and the other 7 have gone for a draw. 9 players have gone for a 2-1 Czech Republic in, 7 for 1-0 and four for a 2-0 win. 6 of the players going for a draw have gone for 1-1 and the other has gone for it to finish goalless. This is the second match today without any uber-max predictions. Norway v Germany 26 of the 27 players have gone for Germany to win, whilst the other player has gone for a draw. We have 7 players going for a 2-0 Germany win, five going for 3-0, three for 2-1 and one player has gone for a 1-0 win. The only player going for Norway to get a point has gone for a 1-1 draw. 6 of the 10 uber-maxes are for a 3-1 Germany win. There are also three players going for a 4-1 away win and one player going for 4-0. Group E Romania v Montenegro This is the only match today where all three outcomes have been selected by at least one player. There are 20 players going for a home win, 6 going for a draw and 1 player has gone for an away win. All 6 players going for a draw have gone for it to finish 1-1. The 1-0, 2-0, 2-1 and 3-1 Romania wins have all been selected five times (with the latter representing all five uber-max predictions). The only player backing Montenegro has gone for a 1-0 win. Group F Malta v Scotland There are 25 players backing Scotland to win this match and 2 players have gone for a draw. 8 players have gone for a 2-0 Scotland win, 7 for 1-0 four for 3-0 and three players have gone for them to win 2-1. Both players going for a draw have gone for it to finish 1-1. Three players have gone for an uber-max prediction: the 3-1, 4-0 and 4-1 Scotland wins all being picked once each. The selections for runner-up spot in the groups that began today were: Group C Czech Republic 24 Northern Ireland 2 Norway 1 Azerbaijan 0 Germany 0 San Marino 0 Group E Denmark 14 Romania 7 Poland 6 Armenia 0 Kazakhstan 0 Montenegro 0 Group F Slovakia 22 Scotland 4 Slovenia 1 England 0 Lithuania 0 Malta 0 |

davethecue was the only player who went for a goalless draw between Czech Republic and Northern Ireland. He becomes the first player to score a double points bonus of 10 points in this competition. Cissy Fairfax, clarky323, DimbleBurbleby, familyguy8904, taurus_67 and yakutz also went for a draw here to score 2 points each.
familyguy8904, Partyanimal, Realale, Trmcg5 and WoodsMonk all went for Germany to win 3-0 in Norway. 21 other players scored 2 points from the away win. The 1-1 draw between Romania and Montenegro was correctly called by Cissy Fairfax, digiremote, dyer24, Trmcg5, uls2000 and yakutz. No-one else went for a draw here. No-one backed Scotland to win 5-1 in Malta. WoodsMonk was the unlucky player who went for a 4-1 win and came within 7 minutes of bein the first player to manage a double points uber-max, worth 14 points. Instead, he was one of 25 players who scored 2 points from the Scotland win. The leading scores from the 9 matches today were: Cissy Fairfax 23 Trmcg5 21 digiremote 20 uls2000 20 davethecue 20 Partyanimal 19 dyer24 18 yakutz 17 charlieparr 16 Terrence Chant 16 familyguy8904 15 taurus_67 14 Cissy Fairfax, Partyanimal and Trmcg5 each managed 3 exacts Cissy Fairfax, digiremote, taurus_67, uls2000 and yakutz all scored points from 7 of the 9 matches today. |

Thanks for pointing that out Darren. I was just using the Full Times scores at a glance posted on FIFA's website. To be honest, it wasn't the most accurate as it said Wales won 3-0 and Spain only won 1-0 (despite listing 8 goal scorers)
![]() I will update the tables and database once the Albania match concludes ![]() I was unlucky tonight. had Wales to win 3-0, ruined by last kick. Spain to win 7-0, 8th goal in injury time...grr |

Albania won the rain interrupted match against FYR Macedonia 2-1, meaning that Darren Lethem, dyer24, neilwatson and tso each got a max. There were 15 other players who scored 2 points thanks to the extra goal that was scored after the match resumed.

Cuishla was the only player who went for Serbia and Republic of Ireland to draw 2-2. He claims the first double points uber-max (worth 14 points) of the competition.
