Difference between Omelette and Foo Yung
ianlawn
26-08-2016
I nearly always get special foo yung from chinese, been tempted to get Special omelette and chips because its £4.80 whereas foo yung is £4.5 and chips £1.5.

So i was wondering has anyone tried both how do they differ in ingredients and size? Ive read they are the same, some people say foo yung has sauce and some say it has beansprouts extra.

Thanks

Could you not ask at the takeaway how they differ?

But unless there is a radical, regional difference, egg fu yung is more of a vegetable (bean sprout, onion, (others depending on the cook)) and sometimes meat or seafood fritter. It's bound with an egg and corn flour batter, fried and topped with sauce.

An omelette generally contains eggs without the corn flour, and is filled, or has the ingredients added during the cooking, (although that can also be called a fritatta.)
