Well you know poodles, work everything out to the last millimetre and what,s in it for them. Always got to be a pay off for a poodle.
Don't I know it. Mine is positively Machiavellian. Easy to train, does loads of tricks - but only where treat is involved, or to seek attention from strangers. Will stretch out to take the whole sofa if human occupant gets up even though she's a miniature. Not safe around unguarded bin bags - will shred and strew contents as soon as human is out of range.

Thats why standard poodles wouldn,t make good guide dogs and they had to cross them with labradors to make labradoodles for guide dogs. Poodles are way too intelligent to be guide dogs, they would be working out each gap to guide their owner through to the millimetre then times it by .05 and taking away pi... plus if you think they would do all that hard work just for the love of it, you must be joking, got to be at least a 3 course meal in it for them. Hee hee, love poodles.

My poodle won't touch it - but is rather fastidious, she kicks her water bowl to get it changed if there is a speck of anything in it.

However I have to admit the folden retriever and the westie are partial to the occasional horse poo - but not to the extent of the cairn terrier, who was always at it
My Chorkie (Chihuahua/Yorkshire Terrier Cross) is the same about her food and drink. Food has to be clean and cut very small, water has to be sparklingly fresh. But she loves eating rabbit poos. She would do anything for them
