Cain- I' m a happy bunny
I also enjoy watching Carly, Bernice, Lachlan, Charity, Chas, Emma, Moira, Lawrence, Finn, Ashley, Laurel, Zak,Pierce, and can take or leave some others. I' ve very much enjoyed the additions of John McArdle and Michael Praed to the cast as both are very good actors - I' ve liked watching them perform. However, an episode featuring David and Tracey (what a shame MP is in such a terrible story) or Paddy is going to try my patience I' m afraid. I agree with points other posters make about too much bed hopping as well, especially when it seems to have come out of nowhere. Cain/ Charity has some context but
Spoiler
Nicola/Dan is just the ruination of yet another settled relationship.
. There still falling back way too much on crime as a storyline as well. One criminal family is enough. However, there are enough strong actors and characters who I am interested in to keep me viewing.”

I had found out about your spoiler, which is another factor making ED less watchable than it could be now.

Dan should never be accepted as a paramedic as he can't be trusted not to be intimate with patients. Moira took her bra off in the car to have sex with James, then left without it; she is a big girl for her age and would have noticed the lack of support as soon as she got out of the car and fell flat on her face. Did Kerry leave her bra in the car when she had sex with Ross? It would be interesting to know what age group the directors of Emmerdale are aiming at now; it certaily isn't the middle-aged loyal watchers.”

I'm pretty sure she would be better taking her knickers off for that....

Maybe he just wants a bit of... erm... extreme foreplay.

Much as I love Emmy it's not something to get so angry we abuse each other. It's one of the things I love about ds mostly we do all manage to stay reasoned and polite.

Charley Webb AKA Deborah (Peoples Actress of the year) = Ratings”

Are you Ms. Webb's mum, dad or agent?

I'm not sure they were wrong Charley makes everyone around her look like better actors than they really are, even holly looks like a real Shakespearean actor in comparison

and you think these plots are realistic?... this is my point, i totally agree about giving up on eastenders because the plots were too daft to laugh at, but emmerdale is going the same way...and THATS my gripe.

the andy being prosecuted for eg... there is not 1 bit of forensic evidence to tie him to the shooting, how the hell would he have been prosecuted?

belles phantom pregnancy..... dragged it out far too long when anyone could see she was lying then she didnt take the opportunity to miscarry .

zack and joannie...?.... really?

the daft way they got marlon and thingy together...

nico and dan...... rubbish!

the standard of execution behind these plotlines is awful.”

The problem is 7 episodes a week (hour on Tuesday, hour on Thursday). The scripts are wafer thin to fill in all that time. They need to reduce to 4 episodes a week maximum. Being a village there are not really enough situations, so they resort to affairs and gossip.

As of next week they're back to six episodes a week.

I'm not an avid Emmerdale viewer but I do see it most nights. For me, the storylines are still good but I've not been enjoying their attempts at comedy recently. The slapstick fights between Paddy/Pierce and Vanessa/Tracy were both silly and unnecessary. Ashley's dementia has also been used for comedic purposes at times which doesn't seem right, tying in with the pirate ship stuff which itself was quite silly.

Comedy is fine if it's done well and can provide a balance against the more serious storylines, but I think some of the recent stuff has been misjudged.

I guess they can't please us all I laughed out loud at paddys fight I thought that was comedy gold, but the women in the pub was not funny at all IMO, but I'm willing to bet some people loved it.

I also loved the pirate ship bit and I do think dementia although serious can cause comedic scenes, I know within our family we have had a lot of health problems and there have been days if we hadn't found the funny in them we would have just cried. So it feels very real to me.

I couldn't agree more, what Is It they say? "If you didn't laugh you'd cry", and laughing is better
