I've mentioned it before but I'd be quite up for Eileen sussing him out and slowly poisoning him, playing the concerned girlfriend until the final dose is delivered and she tells him exactly what she's done as he draws his last breath.

Eileens too thick to poison Phelan - she'd put the poison in her own food.

He is definitely a good villain, but that type of character has a shelf life. He can't carry on like that forever. Either something or someone will expose him and bring him down, or he'll do what most characters do who stay in Corrie - change from being a villain into a saint. Can't see that happening though.

Owen will return and there will be a coup to remove him from power.

There are two other options:

1. Phelan takes the £65K and runs, never to be seen for a couple of years. At which time he'll go after Liz for whatever he can get. Liz will of course ignore the warnings of Anna and Eileen.

2. His partner in crime is actually conning him, and there's no development. Phelan will steal the money, and in turn have it stolen from him. He'll hang around in case another deus-ex-machina turns up. Such as Gail (now sans Michael) buying her first lottery ticket and winning a quarter of a million.
