Credit to you, Keep_it_real for admitting that - that takes some balls after supporting him all the way
When I went on about him I know I was pretty serious about his behaviour, but when you come to understand people like these, just watching them on a show can press all the wrong buttons and empathising with the other housemates anger and frustrations were heightened. Unfortuneatly, people like Stephen Bear can't change because they are unable to.
If he was like that on the show and then came out and was pretty decent, for sure there would have been a part of me that would be really peed off I'd been duped by his performance, but there would probably be a small piece of me saying, 'god, he's good!' But, the thing is, when you act and react like a malignant narcissist inch by inch and breath by breath, the highly likely outcome is, you are a malignant narcissist to the marrow. Someone playing the game, be it on the show or in life, tends to veer in and out of character and has the ability to show other sides to their nature, even when they don't mean to. Unfortunately, Bear cannot do this. He's invented this overblown, violently ugly caricature of what he wants to be, because deep down, he despises who he is - Probably something his family environment has made him feel. He'll feel weak, unsupported, ashamed, lost, ugly, etc but what he does is project that onto other people and by god, he will make them pay for it. It also reinforces this persona of who he thinks he should be, which in his eyes is a thousand times better than who he really is deep down. The sad fact is, he's a lost cause. You can't help these people - they have to admit there is something wrong, but there is nothing wrong with them, only something wrong with everybody else. Their only modus operandi in life is to use, abuse and chew up and spit out people to prop up their own ego's and they can never learn from a negative experience.
Hurt people, hurt people. But, when hurt people become ugly narcissists they can't ever be cured. You can only wise up and keep out of their negative vacuum, less you be destroyed by their vile existences.
Still, it's all a shame because he could have built up a great life and a fan base by showing, actually, he's okay, personable, charismatic, and people would want to work with him. Unfortunately his jupiter sized ego and mal-intent to strip the attention away from others to guzzle it up for himself far outweighs any emotional intelligence or practical thinking.
