.......................they discuss stuff they shouldn't, like it being scripted?

I think they must sign some kind of secrets act saying if they divulge info they have signed to say they wouldn't then they have to repay their fee........It'd explain why they're paid so much too - even if you were really mad you wouldn't want to hand back 100 grand just for blowing the whistle would you?

They can't bind them to secrecy for life.

Andy BB17 insisted in his live Facebook show yesterday that it is not scripted. He was only paid minimal per diem amounts - no hush money.

Yes but I don't think it's as sinister as being made out. I don't think it's quite as scripted or controlled as we may being led to believe at the minute.

I think there is something contractual and they are prepped and guided rather than out and out gagged.

There were a few times I thought the disparity between their interview with Emma and how they were on BOTS and everything subsequent to that was too great for words not to have spoken in their ear.

Yes, I think they probably do but as Biggins won't be getting his fee, maybe he might be spill. Didn Jonathon Cheban walk after a week too? He could have said something. But maybe this year's was partcularly set up if they had a Bear reality show or similar in mind from the start. It's possible that previous series were losely directed & set up but they didn't relentlessly promote their chosen one or let him/her get away with quite so much or hide their worst excesses.

In the old days, when BB HMs seemed to be revered in the eyes of the public and some of them became quite "famous" after leaving, I used to wonder why none of them wrote a book along the lines of " a diary of a housemate".
I would have been interested on what went on behind the scenes.

As far as I know there has never been such revelation book, so I have to assume they have to sign something like the Official Secrets Act, before going in.
I don't know what threat could be used against them though, to keep them quiet, as long as they told the truth and were not libellous writing such a book would not be a crime. Or would it be, somehow?

These current HMs seem to come out and tell a story of a completely different house to that we have been watching, as if they are scared to say how it really was.
But why?

I think in all reality TV contestants sign a non-Disclosure type clause that prevents them from revealing any production details about the show they are on. If they break it they they can be sued for at least the amount of their appearance fee and often more.

So money. The threat of being sued keeps them quiet. Simple as that.

For BB USA there's a 3 year non-disclosure clause:

CBB participants are paid a fee and also hoping to use it as a platform so they would be unlikely to rock the boat.
If anyone was going to spill the beans it would be more likely be someone from civilian big brother - possibly someone who was ejected.

Nobody has even bothered doing that on an anonymous blog leading me to believe it isn't scripted.

I don't think it is scripted but is heavily edited.
They do use certain tasks to get footage and they engineer things like the accidentally leaked 'good night' sequence.

I don't think it's constructed reality like TOWIE, Geordie Shore etc.. though.

I'm sure everyone has to sign some kind of nondisclosure as well as agreeing to the rules and regulations.

Nobody seems to talk about stuff that happened off camera, interaction with the production team, security, psychologists etc. so some things are probably kept under wraps.

The closest we've come is Andrew from this year but even he's not really been able to say anything damaging.
