.. And calls it "produced reality".

I haven't heard him talk about the show since he got fired. Thoughts?

Aaaawww Brian made me laugh more in that minute and a half than in this whole series.

I loved it when the tasks were REAL and lasted 3 days/a week.

This thread's got a better attention-grabbing headline than yours though

Brian Dowling's BB alumni turned presenter - proper clickbait around these parts

Ahhh nice to know Brian still watches the show and he even says he would consider going back in! I wasn't a big fan of his presenting but I felt bad for him when he was sacked.

Not a good decision. It meant that BB was saddled with Clarke.

For me those marathon length tasks were the best bit about it, they all had to work together as a team to pass or else they actually had to survive on a basic diet, soaking peas/beans the night before. Now they may as well all refuse to do anything, and just carry on fighting as they get fed no-matter what.

Why did they get rid of Brian? Anyone know?

He looked like a rabbit caught in the headlights trying to read the autocue.

Emma and Rylan are far more relaxed in front of the cameras. Too much so in Rylan's case.

Aww - I didn't think he was too bad. He was certainly a 'natural' housemate, before he presented!

I think Brian is right in a way the new audience now would find it boring.

BB2 was a riveting series for me, due to the mix of HMs and Brian although not perfect (Who is!) was hilarious "Hold me Bubble!" The tasks were class and we had LF!

I think C5 did Brian a favour in sacking him, he is a more off the cuff sort of chap and very naturally funny.

And if anyone asks, yes I have stopped watching BB on C5 I think I'm like a lot of forum members keep coming back here, in the vain hope that BB might "pick up" again also I like to chat about past C4 series, although not perfect especially in the later years, they were certainly streets ahead of the utter mess we have now.

I can't think of one memorable moment from any of the series on C5 one or two things have made me laugh, but it just seems to be nasty and depressing.

Agreed.

Brian will always be my favourite housemate and he was perfectly fine as a presenter on smtv.

Brain is a warm, funny, kind charismatic person but he's not a 'natural' as a presenter so he didn't come across as himself. He's not a 'scripted' person, he's a natural wit, comedian and all round good-guy.
I hate reading out loud myself so sympathise and though I miss him on my screeeeen I think he's better in the house than presenting it.

Love Brian!!

He'd be better at Marcus's job if ever he leaves. His voice and wit would be perfect.

I think Brian under-estimates the GBP, people watch the bake-off in huge numbers and that's not for the twists and gunging people

I watched the launch show of BB2 again recently and found the way the show was put together quite lovely, almost like 1960s tv it seems now , if you have a spare hour check it out
