The number of adverts is ridiculous.

Yeah. Not just the adverts.

While some of them were good singers they weren't amazing. Not captivating. And the judge comments are just boring and vacuous.

The only audition I watched start to end with some of the filler bilge was the one who did Missy Eliot - and I have my suspicion she may be an actress/performance artist. Did lead to an interesting discussion in the StressMonkey household about if she'd have been better received if she'd been younger, prettier, cooler and less bag of spannerish.

Then we went back to fast forwarding and arguing about World of Warcraft/listening to Carole King.

I find the blatantly useless ones that aren't actors - the way they laugh at them and take the piss - it's very playground bully

I wonder when they'll realise that the failing ratings over the last 2 or 3 years is down to a significantly lessened number of shite, embarrassing acts they put on. Ever since Gary Barlow took over, there seems to have been this startling misconception among the top brass that the audience only ever tuned in for the sob story acts that could genuinely sing...

Because that has never been the case. No one gives a toss about them. I don't care about their life story, I don't intend on buying whatever shite cover they're going to put out when they win. What I am interested in, is laughing my arse off at the delusional, oddball nature of some of the contestants. I thought that when Cowell came back there'd be a back to basic attitude with regards to the show's content. The return to a room as opposed to an insufferable live show seemed to be a step in the right direction, but if anything else I've heard is anything to go by, that's as far as their good ideas went. I also wonder if it'll ever twig on them that the only sort of people that come to the live shows, are teenage girls who, more often than not, have only come to eye up the insufferable boyband acts that no one else gives a toss about.
