Did anyone else not like Samantha's voice?

I was actually surprised when the judges praised her so highly and she got all four of them backing her. I didn't really like her voice at all. It sounded 'foghorn' like to my ears. Would really like to see how she sounds singing in a more natural way because she could hold a tune, I just didn't appreciate her style.

She was over-singing and average imo

You could see that she has some raw talent, but way over the top comments from the judges as usual. Will probably reach the latter stages, but cant see her winning.

I dont know if it was the track or her but it just seemed totally out of time. Plus she needs to rethink her dress sense.

Her dress sense was fine imo, she didn't have the wannabe dated look which was good.

Her vocal like Melissa's could go either one of two Musical styles, Rock (good) or Diva (omg not again) personally I feel that this Samantha girl has a bit of a Rock sound but like Luke Friend she doesn't seem to understand that, or because Simon hates Rock he won't let her touch it.

I wanna hear Samantha sing White Rabbit.

I am so glad it's not just me. I HATED it. Why oh why must we have annoying shouty girl singers EVERY YEAR? They all try to be like Demi Lovato and Jessie Jay. They sound awful, most of them...

And I will go on record now as saying she will be in the live shows, because they were properly gushing over her.

I was prepared to give X factor another go after getting p1ssed off with it this past 2 or 3 years, but so far it's the same b0llux; sob stories, people who are clearly scouted, and shouty girl singers. And that stupid middle aged woman doing that daft rap was clearly a set up.

And what is with Sharon's TEETH?! They look mental.

She looks good but that's definitely NOT how you sing an Ellie Goulding song

Great voice but totally the wrong song. If she wanted to sing diva-ish like that she should have sung say Ariana Grande, not Ellie Goulding. That song is soft and fragile and didn't quite sound riht belted like that. But talent wise she definitely has a lot and I like her voice.

I did feel she didn't connect with the song, and it felt a bit forced and trying to impress, but her voice in itself was the best of the episode 1 auditionees. If she calms down and connects to a song and uses her voice in a more dynamic way rather than full-tilt and a little forced like she did this time, that harsh edge that crept in from time to time would be gone and the beauty in her tone would shine.

I like the subtlety of the original personally.

I agree with people suggestion song choice was maybe the problem. She totally should have done a proper rock song but the XF has never been about anything but pushing the most basic, mainstream pop fluff on us so that won't happen.
