Or be considered as entertaining?
If he was Muslim he'd have been accused of being a terrorist.
If it was America and he was black the popo would have gone in and shot him.
BB audience show, yet again, you can get away with anything as a white man.

And if he had been North Korean the state police would have shot his mother.

I think you have a racist streak.

But somehow are trying to pass your guilt onto someone that doesn't give a damn what colour he was.

Would he have won if he was an actual bear?

Time to stop burying your head in the sand my naive buddy.

If Bear was from Alpha Centauri, or had been a single cell organism in a previous life would he have won? I don't understand the relevance of the question.

Only when you take yours out of your behind.

Some people are always playing the race card and it is becoming tiresome.

But you get away with more if you're a certain race idiot. Even win...

Prejudice is tiresome, I agree. Pretending it doesn't exist is also tiresome.
Ask Teressa May, she's even acknowledged how widespread it is.

Interesting question, especially as he was careful to attack only older white women. I don't have an answer for you though.

What a silly thread.

I don't think so. The OP is merely stating that Bear's win was a triumph of white privilege. If a person of colour had behaved in the way that Bear did, they would have been removed quite early in the process. I don't believe this can be denied,

Ricky was my winner - a thoroughly decent young man and a fine role model.

He wasn't exactly warm & friendly to Saira.

No, I don't think he would have, but good luck having a discussion on incidents of blatant racism around here, let alone asking anyone to speculate.

You merely have to mention race to be accused of "playing the race card...".
Now there really is a tired old phrase.

We are not talking about his attitude but the audiences. He did go after the women mostly didn't he? Even Saira at the beginning.

Agreed. The simple answer to the question is: Who knows? He isn't black. Are you suggesting that he won because he's white? Lots of housemates were white and didn't win...
Would he have won were he a nice, decent young man with an ounce of intelligence...?

I'd forgotten her. Although they did seem to be great chums before she left.

I was thinking of the audience. I'm not sure they'd have found it so hilarious.

He wound up Heavy D and James Whale just as much as he did Saira and Sam.

I think being black would have made him less likely to be removed, not more. Ch5 would've been concerned about accusations of racism....the black man got removed for smashing a mirror but in BB a white man smashed through a door and stayed in.

It didn't occur to me while watching it then I thought about how careful Ricky was being keeping his temper in check. He wouldn't have been the runner up if he'd let rip the way Bear has.

Let me explain. A non White man would never have gotten away with behaving like that and won BB. Because white men get away with a lot more bad behaviour than anyone else.

Possibly, but he wouldn't have won.
And he approved of Heavy D and Whale once they turned on the women. They were in his click.

Most likely not.... though C5 edited it in a way to make him seem like a lovable joker and would probably do that regardless of colour. Prejudice probably would come into it.

If Aubrey was black and spat in someone's food she would probably also have been ejected.

If either were in civilian BB they'd have probably been out regardless of colour.

Prejudice and stereotyping obviously exists but you can only really call it when you see it.
Saira and HeavyD were both picked on and BB issued warnings to those who were winding them up.

Bear and Lewis got more warnings than Heavy and Biggins a white man got thrown out for his objectionable statements.

So, there's no concrete evidence of any racism/ prejudice in the BB production.
