Is it better for the artist for you to stream on Spotify if you have bought the album

We have changed the ways we buy music these days. Some, like me who is an old fart now, still mainly buy CDs to listen to, primarily on my way to and from work. Others buy digitally for the same reason.

The question that popped into my mind is that once you have bought the album is it better for the artist for me to stream the album at home as that gives them a second chance of income.

And we want that for our artists don't we?

That's exactly what I do but purely out of convenience, I stick the cd on the shelf and just stream it whenever I want to play it and hence we are giving the bands more revenue that way as well so that's good.

I feel I should really stop buying CDs but I just can't help it I need to own stuff I really like and keep the collection going.

Would one person streaming via Spotify make even the slightest difference to the artist's finances?

Well it all adds up, I'm sure there are a lot of people who do this. Especially stans.

I still buy Cd's occasionally, especially if they are part of a Blu-ray set like a recording of a Gig. Other times I will use Spotify, but as I subscribe to Spotify premium, I can stream it on my home AV receiver which is for premium customers only, or when I am away from home, I have the ability of listening to it offline as I have downloaded the album for offline listening, which comes in use when you are in an area with no data connection. If by rare chance the CD I buy isn't on Spotify, then I just rip it to listen to on train journeys. Either way I have contributed to the Artist / Band.
