My primary reason for not liking the new panel over last year's amazing panel is simply because of how dated and irrelevant some of this year's judges are in the music industry today. Sharon hasn't managed a group in a decade and a half now, and sticks to talk shows for work, and while Louis Walsh continues to work in the industry, he's proved himself little more than an bookend that's good for TV with the worst winning record of any judge on the show.
On the other hand, Cheryl in my opinion knows exactly what she's doing, even though her live singing abilities are a bit questionable (she's the second most successful judge on the show after Cowell, with two winners and two runners-up in her five years on the show) and Rita presented that fresh, young face to the panel and even though she hadn't released an album in three years, she still remained a relevant force in the British music industry, though her mentoring skills are ever so slightly questionable.
