Its been terribly handled. This could have been a strong story about a hate crime leading to a killing yet its been all done for the Mitchells. It started all about Phil and Ian believing Ben had been killed for shock sensationalism.
Then it led to a little bit of Johnny with Ben so we had a little Carter involvement thrown in for good measure.
Then of course its all been about getting Ben and Jay together but of course its more complicated because of Jays drug problem, involving yet more Mitchells, you know the ones that don't have anything to do with him normally but as Billy and Honey don't have much happening it conveniently lands them in trouble with social services because who else would take in a drug dealer with kids around! And Honey is that naïve that she didn't think that telling the police about Jay would land themselves in trouble, no shes another that doesn't have a braincell.
Now because they want Ben and Jay to be a mini Phil and Grant, leaving it to the police isn't enough, no they've got to get revenge because that is really in keeping with how Ben and Jay are! Two young lads who wouldn't know how to handle themselves in a fight at the best of times but they are going against 4 lads who have just killed someone and probably thought nothing of it, I mean what could possibly go wrong! I'm sure the director will have them doing a few more hugs and cuddles this week though, you know in a purely bruvverly way.
Just to add a little more sensationalism lets have ben and jay kidnapped and Phil collapsing just when they need him most, but who's this, Grant just happens to be coming back to save the day, no doubt on his own! I mean who writes this shit.
