It would but it does happen and would only add to the realism

I think it's been the only story recently that feels like it actually happened. Don't know if you'll get what I mean by that.

I'm enjoying Holly a lot and it's sweet how she wants to prove herself to Moira. I love their relationship.

Her exit is going to be big so I'm worrying a little about the characters surrounding her at the moment.

Have never really liked her, thought her 'acting' was a joke but I must say in the last couple of episodes she looks very attractive. With those sort of looks perhaps I can overlook her actual performance and just enjoy the view!:

Think I sort of do. It's had a recognisable arc, and some consequences, and it wasn't batshit mental.

It was, for once, a story arc which had a beginning, a middle and an an end - and had recognisable consequences and drove some other storylines, so all worked for me.

Add me to the not surprised but quite sad group.

I really couldn't stand her when she first came back (think I'd forgotten how limited she was first time round) but she's either really improved or she was deliberately acting that way due to Holly being on drugs. Either way, she did some good work during the detox scenes and i've started really liking her, and understand and feeling sorry for her during this stint. There's a nice girl there, deep down who loves her Mam and wants to come good.

I agree, it has been one of the few storylines you could really invest in this year.

If Emma kills her how will she do it? Car accident perhaps. The actress playing Holy was only given a 6mth contract and I cant see her being given any other storyline. Shame I like her now. I like the actress who plays Emma too but cant see her staying too long either.

Unlike, for example:

Paddy having an affair with Beth off Brookie who then gets run down by Kirin so Paddy goes to Deutschland
Doc Bailey shagging Belle (not noticing she's 17), then manipulating Belle (not caring she's ill), then deciding he loves Belle (not noticing she's not preggers) and he wants to live as a Dingle and work in the pub.
The Bartons setting up a taxi firm (Dullest. Storyline Thing. Ever.).
Lachlan shooting Angry Lawrence and Chrissie framing Andy who then escapes with the help of Rakesh and Robert and Lawrence isn't angry now, but STILL NOT GAY
David's permanent flu and wedding boner
Rakesh torching the flats paralysing Nicola who then snogs Dan
Gabby doing really vile stuff and making everyone really cross and then being forgiven for everything as if it never happened
Vanessa & Tracey turning out both to be daughters of Robin of Sherwood

All of which feels like some insane coke-fuelled hallucination.

See when you put it like that, turns out Holly is the most normal person in ED. Pleeeeaaaase don't go Holly - we need more normal.

The 2nd time she's leaving.

Surely she can't just pick and choose when she returns, time to axe her for good.

Hollyoaks would suit her more.

She can only pick and choose when she leaves, just like anyone else. She can only return if her employers want her back - again, just like anyone else.

Adam and Victoria are kind of normal.
Finn is normal, but a storyline-free zone.
And of course my lovely Doug is normal.

I shall write a storyline in which Adam farms, Victoria makes an award-winning shepherd's pie, Finn sells the taxi firm for a huge profit and buys Home Farm, and Doug makes his own home-brew gooseberry wine and gets everyone pissed.

Exactly.

The Producers came up with a storyline and approached Powles to ask if she would be interested in a return. Had she said no, they would either have abandoned the plot or more likely, recast the character. She did,'t just decide to come back and expect them to have a job for her.

It is also, entirely possible that this was only ever planned as a short term plotline so she hasn't had a choice as to when she leaves - if she is indeed killed off i'd say it was almost certainly always planned otherwise she'd have had to quit almost as soon as she started back.

Like every other cast member she has a contract drawn up by ITV and agreed by the actor. Hers is for 6 months, and is about to end. It's all very simple.

There is no casting couch, this isn't America. They hire from agencies unless the producer has a specific actor in mind but they wouldn't be minor characters.

I'm afraid cyril is blinded by her lust-tinted spectacles when it comes to HotDoug.

That would actually suit me down to a tee. Especially Finn buying Home Farm, how wonderful!
I mean I could probably handle Doug if he stopped interfering in stuff that doesn't involve him.

I like Holly. It would be nice for her to have a positive exit - say a job or college course. However given that she lives in the Village of the Damned and her dealer keeps reappearing, I think she's doomed.
