Well why didn't "that" fanbase win them best soap the previous year when they voted just as enthusiastically?

I don't think it is bashing him to say he came across is non committal and not bothered in that interview, it's just how it came across to me and made me think he probably isn't long for the show if he is bored with it.

That said in trying to find that interview again tonight I found another from the same night and he was a lot more enthusiastic in that and more like his usual self. Maybe by the time he got to the former interviewer he was just done with the red carpet and ready to go inside and have a drink ”

Are you saying he's s allowed to have ' offdays'????!!!! The very suggestion!!!

Did they vote as enthusiastically? I don't remember their fandom being as strong back then

Not for all of it and the fan base was still there and voting regardless, in fact I would say they probably had more fans last year and I mean we are talking about a couple of hundred here, hardly hordes enough to greatly influence the voting of something like this.

Aaron's storyline was very well received by the public. DS might not like it but there it is.

It was probably stronger tbh and yes they voted and they are no more or less enthusiastic than any other soaps fan bases, a couple of hundred people who like robron as a couple are not that powerful, if only we were

Hollyoaks would suit her more.”

Then she could be reunited with Kirsty-Leigh Porter, whose ED character Roz got her hooked on drugs in the first place.

I dont think it's anything to do with the number of fans, it's how enthusiastically they vote.

Well the number of fans isn't irrelevant is it? because there is a cap on the number of votes they can cast right there. A few hardcore fans might make up multiple emails to vote more than once but all soaps have fans who will do that, Hollyoaks especially, so it all cancels out in the end.

and again same fanbase last year, same enthusiasm (possibly more even) and yet no awards. You can't ignore that just because it doesn't support your argument that Robron fans won emmerdale awards. Well you can (and I think are) but it makes no sense to do so.

Emmerdale won because they had 2 storylines in Aaron's abuse and Ashley's illness that connected with the soap viewing audience. Both highly emotional and heart string tugging.

His just giving page says it is base camp

Don't think I have seen this interview, he always comes across really nice and always thankful for Emmerdale

Everyone moaned that Ross was getting to much screen time so they have probably given him some down time, it's not just him though the other Barton's haven't been in it either much. I suspect they will be getting more and more in the next couple of months. I can't see Ross leaving just yet. I would imagine they would want to continue the Debbie story and I don't think she is even back filming yet?

In the case of Hollyoaks it was certainly more than a few and I think the same applies to Emmerdale. If you get enough dedicated fans all block voting then it certainly improves their chances of winning, If anything I think the fandom surrounding Robron increased when they were apart with many fans spamming the ED Twitter page demanding that they were reunited. I am not suggesting that every Robron fan did this but there is certainly a band of very dedicated fans out there,

I agree that both Aaron and Ashleys storyline were good but Emmerdałe has had better years with stronger storylines and they didn't win then - I think the difference is the power of social media.

I was one of them! That's the irony. I was so fed up with all the Debbie Big Lurve borefest, and the Who Shot JR, I mean Robert, and being Mosesdaddy. They pushed his character way too far - 3 big storylines at the same time, and none of them was any good.

But now here I am, wanting more. Ross is a great character. Luckily, if the spoilers on another thread are true, it looks like the Bartons are getting a Mahoosive storyline, so I hope he's right in the middle of it, where he belongs.

MORE ROSS!!

Be careful what you wish for - maybe it'll be Ross who does it
