Doesn't sit right. Seems Lacey Turner can't act a happy character.

Yes I've noticed this and she comes across a bit simple tbh. Happiness does not come easy to Stacey.

I miss feisty Stacey. I saw a video someone posted of all the fights in 2010, and she was such an interesting character back then. We did see a glimpse of the old Stacey when she confronted the Mitchells about protecting Bobby, but most of the time she's just walking around in a baggy jumper being nice to people which I hate!

I agree, I still love Stacey but she's become so boring. She needs to get that fire back.

I think Stacey has progressed very well as a character. We don't want her turning into Roxy / Sam and making catty remarks to everyone well into her 40s, especially after all she's been through over the last few years. She is the opposite of Ronnie who went the opposite direction and turned evil after her ordeals.

If she was nasty to everyone we would be hating her. I'm enjoying Stacey chapter 2 and hope she has a good life with Martin. Perhaps her next challenge could be a physical disease not covered yet, like MS and how her and Martin cope.

No it's nice to see someone move on and get their shit together.

I liked Stacey in the Santer era but I don't want to watch a rehash of it. The Kush saga was bad enough.

Lacey is always good whatever the scene. I liked Stacey with Bex tonight.

Poor Martin you just know she'll never keep her knickers up for long.

The problem is Lacey Turner, who outside mental health stories isn't a very convincing actress and is very one note. She'll play 'normal' Stacey as one dimensionally horrid and unpleasant without anything behind it and then flip to one dimensionally sugary sweet in a way that lacks sincerity or believabilty. The character lacks any kind of realistic nuance or cohesion and just comes across as fake. It's always one extreme or another, she's incapable of layering her performances the way good actors such as Steve McFadden, Linda Henry, Lindsey Coulson, Jessie Wallace or even Jake Wood do. She is ridiculously overrated.

I for one appreciated the closeness of the characters in EE tonight. It gets a bit wearing seeing them snipe and bitch at each other constantly. I liked Stacey and Bex together and the mini Mitchells. The boring Beales kinda brought the episode down.

Or maybe it's because of Stacey's mental health problems that she goes from one extreme mood to the other & that's how Lacey has been told to play her.

I agree. Too often Soaps make the mistake of not maturing their characters. Whilst that might be fun for a while it soon begins to grate.

Besides, for the first time in years Stacey has a happy, secure, stable life and Lacey is doing a great job of getting that across. It's good to see a character who knows when their well off and doesn't moan about every little thing. No doubt she'll have some drama thrown at her soon....it is a Soap after all.

This.

Stacey and Martin work well as a couple and it's revived the Fowlers as a unit in the show. And Stacey still has an edge as we saw a couple of months ago when she handed Sharon her arse for harassing her over Max.

It won't last. They will line up Stacey to sleep with another's person's bloke and have her play the victim.

I swear Lacey Turner just gets more gorgeous as time goes on. Such a naturally beautiful woman.

I hated Stacey when she was going around punching people and sleeping with anything that had a pulse. So give me grown up Stacey over that any day.

Agree 100% with this assessment.

I agree with this, Stacey has progressed well but she is boring now imo. I think all characters should have light and shade, so I do like the nice scenes with Bex, which reminds me of Danielle and other old friends. But I think it would be good for her to also have someone to feud with and bounce off e.g. Janine as that shows she hasn't completely changed.

So basically what I'm saying is keep the nice scenes because I do enjoy them, but get her out of that flat and bring back a bit of the old Stace too!

Linda Henry isn't as good as Lacey but I rate the other four actors you mentioned quite highly.

Looks like we're being called morons over on Walford Web because of this thread I find some of them so arrogant sometimes. I personally quite enjoy the calmer Fowler Stacey. But I think she could do with that feisty Slater edge back that was a big part of her original stint.

I loved that scene that's what we need to see more of.
