Angelique Bouchard - Dark Shadows

Played superbly by Lara Parker and she could do these things with her eyes that would add to the evil streak and doings of the character. Even when the scripts began to suffer in later years, Lara always maintained composure and never turned Angelique into a hammy silly panto villain.

I'm usually a fan of most villains but Chrissie is way too cartoonish and played by a horrible actress.

I agree. She is awful, and extremely irritating.

Best: Clare Devine from HO. She was a fantastic character and Gemma Bissix proved herself in the role.

Worst: Pat Phelan from CS. I disliked the character in his first stint and remain the same feeling now.

Other mentions include EE's Claudette and Babe. Both complicated characters with interesting pasts. As much as I enjoy Tracy from CS, there's no back story or motive for her ways whereas with the two EE women, they're complex.

I don't think Chrissie is a villian. She found out that the man she thought was her father isn't and that he had a relationship with a man. I think it's screwed her up and that's why she's currently acting the way she is. I do find her very entertaining though and her scenes are often my favourites.

Emma has mental health problems. I tend to zone out when Robert is on screen, partly because Aaron is often with him.

Best:
Amanda Vale - Home and Away, married Graham for his money and then started seeing his grandson. Slept with her daughters boyfriend. Murderer. The list is endless. She is what villains should be.
Angie Russell - Home and Away. I always say Angie was the start of the more adult, dark, grown up Home and Away. Twisted and more layers than an onion. Met her match in Morag (who in her earlier years would have made this list but she has softened now)
Sarah Lewis, Zoe McAllister - Home and Away. Lesbian lovers who unleashed two years of darkness and murder on Summer Bay. Sarah's siege where she shot Noah and herself was terrifying
Kim Tate - Emmerdale - similar to what I said about Amanda in relation to being what a villain should be
Richard Hillman -Corrie, villain, comedy, panto. This was dark and twisted with humour
Mad Maya - Corrie. That night with all the explosions! This was Corrie at its best

The only three I recognise in your list are the wonderful Chrissie White, JR Ewing and Charity Dingle. I agree that JR was amazing. Charity is just a selfish tart out for what she can get, she's certainly not a villain. Chrissie is just screwed up.
